5.2- UNACCEPTABLE OPERATING START-UPS
*OPERATING WITHOUT OIL
* Blower rotating in the wrong direction.
* Increase in the pressure above the level indicated on the machine characteristics plate.
* Exceeding the minimum and maximum values for the motor and blower speeds.
* Exceeding the maximum inlet air temperature limit
* Using incorrect or insufficient grade or type of oil
* Operation with open filing valve. (Oil fill system)
* Operation without adequate electric protection.
* Operation with inadequate electrical insolation.
* Operation with open relief valve.
5.3- DISCONNECTION OR STOPPING OF THE UNIT
* Should the unit have a planned 'outage' for more than 3 weeks, we recommend you follow the instructions given in
section 3.1. Storage.
*In case you require repair work to be carried out on the blower or unit, please send the blower without oil.
6.0- PRESSURE / VACUUM RELIEF VALVE
This valve is designed the protection of the blower from overloads. It should be installed as close to the blower as possible
and before non-return valve or a system isolation vale.
IT IS NOT A PROCESS CONTROL VALVE. The relief valve is supplied preliminary set to the pressure indicated on
the machine nameplate. It must be accurately set during start up.
To set the pressure set point, the following steps should be carried out.
* Remove the cover of the spring.
* Put the unit into normal operation to make the valve open
* Use the nut at the back of the spring to press on the spring until the valve opens. Once it has closed, tighten the nut once
more and fix with the lock nut.
* Replace the cowl.
The valve is adjusted to exact value.
6.1- INSTALLATION OF THE FREQUENCY CONVERTER
* Follow the procedure given in the manufacturer's instructions guide.
* The frequency converters to be used are for CONSTANT TORQUE operation.
* Both the minimum and maximum frequency must be set to so the blower operates within its design parameters.
* When setting the minimum and maximum frequencies, take into account the minimum and maximum speed for the
Blower and motor. The vee belt drive on the blower means that it is unlikely to run at the same speed as the motor
* Adjust the converter so that functions with a smooth ramp for both increasing and decreasing speed (1Hz/s).
CAUTION: Earth clamp.
When using an converter, pay special attention to the earth clamp lay-out in order to ensure:
1- The correct operation of all the protection devices both mechanical and electrical.
2- A minimum or acceptable level of electromagnetic interference
3- An acceptable voltage level in the bearings of both the motor and blower, to prevent current and failures in the bearings.
4- The electric cable connecting the converter to the motor is shielded.
