PRELIMINARY INFORMATION

Mixers of the KAWA series are fit for operating with hot
water collectors under pressure, instantaneous and gas
water-heaters.
ATTENTION: the connection with hot water collectors
without pressure (with open circuit) is not possible.

TECHNICAL DATA

- Minimum dynamic pressure . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 0,5 bar
- Maximum operational pressure (static) . . . . . . . . 10 bar
- Recommended operational pressure (static) . . . . 1-3 bar
(N.B.: for pressures higher than 3 bar we suggest the
installation of a pressure reducer)
- Maximum test pressure (static) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 16 bar
- Maximum hot water temperature . . . . . . . . . . . . 80°C
- Suggested hot water temperature . . . . . . . . . . . 60°C
(for energy saving)
INSTALLATION OF INTERNAL PARTS
(ref. Fig. A➞F)
- Prepare an appropriate hole in the wall and insert the tap
with the protections ASSEMBLED. The installation proportions
are indicated in Fig. A-B (the admissible depth of the fitting
into the wall is meant with the complete wall including the
coating).
- Connect the mixer to the supply pipes. Do not weld the
mixer to the pipes.
- Check position with a spirit level.
- Open the ducts of water and check the tightness of the
connections (maximum test pressure 16 bar static).
- Apply the tiles to the wall so that they butt against the
protection casings (2).
INSTALLATION OF EXTERNAL PARTS
(ref. Fig. G➞P)
- Trim with a cut the protection's part (2) in excess.
- Turn the screws (3) out with a 3 mm Allen wrench and
remove the plug (4).
- Check that there are the sealing's O Rings (5) and the flow
rate reducers (6) on the external body.
- Assemble the external body (7) and tighten the screws (3)
with a 3 mm. Allen wrench
- Mount the covering plate (8) and insert the cover cartridge
(9).
- Assemble the lever (10) screwing the locking pin (11) by an
Allen wrench of 2,5 mm (supplied).
- Check that there is the gasket (15) and assemble the
external part of the spout (12); tighten the external part
with locking pins (13) by a 2 mm Allen wrench and the
screws placed below (14) using a short cross screw driver.
Important! Do not tighten the screws (13) - (14) too much,
check that there is the gasket (15) and check that the
exposed part of the spout (12) is against the spout (18).
REPLACEMENT OF THE MIXING VALVE
WITH CERAMIC DISCS (ref. Fig. N➞Q)
- Close the hot water and cold water inlets.
- Unscrew the locking pins (13) with a 2.5 mm Allen wrench,
the screws placed below (14) with a short cross screw
driver and disassemble the external part of the spout (12).
- Unscrew the locking pin (11) with a 2.5 mm Allen wrench
and remove the lever (10).
- Disassemble the cover cartridge (9), unscrew the nut (16)
with a 22 mm wrench and remove the mixing valve (17).
- Insert the new mixing valve verifying that no dirt is left
between the plane surface and the gaskets.
- Screw the nut (14) by DYNAMOMETRIC WRENCH
applying a coupling torque of 7Nm.
- Proceed in the opposite way to reassemble the mixer -
Important! Do not tighten the screws (13) - (14) too much,
check that there is the gasket (15) and check that the
exposed part of the spout (12) is against the spout (18).
