4.4 Using the Nail Setting Tool

WARNING
Serious injuries due to accidental
triggering
Always keep the fi ngers away from
the trigger if the Nail Setting Tool is
not facing the target material.
Determine the suitable fi ring strength
by test fastening, see chapter 4.3
„Setting the Firing Strength".
If the cartridge does not fi re
immediately after pressing the
trigger, keep the Nail Setting Tool
pressed against the target material
for at least another 30 seconds.
For every workstation change:
Remove the cartridge and carry
the Nail Setting Tool with the barrel
pointing down.
After you fi nished working: fi rst
remove the cartridge and then
the setting nail. Keep the Powder
Actuated Tool stored in the tool
box and store the cartridge strips
in a safe place – both components
separately from each other.
Firing the Shooting Nails:
Firmly grab the Nail Setting Tool with
both hands (see image) and push the
barrel against the material to be fastened
(90° angle, device facing downward) (1).
Pull the trigger (2).

Inspection and Cleaning

Nail Setting Tools have to be cleaned after use in
order to remove the accumulated carbon (due to
the combustion gasses).
WARNING
Serious injuries due to accidental
triggering
Remove the cartridge.
Remove the setting nail from the
magazine or single-shot attachment.
CAUTION
Hot surfaces
Let the Nail Setting Tool cool down.
5.1 Disassembling the Nail Setting
Tool
Unscrew the magazine (A) or single-shot
attachment (B).

Remove the piston with the Insulation Ring
and piston return spring.
