II. PARTICULAR REGULATIONS
1
Object of approval and area of application
(1) This General Construction Inspection Approval relates to
fixed rectangular containment devices of fibre glass reinforced
unsaturated polyester resin or vinyl ester resin in accordance with
annex-1. The containment devices can be equipped with a frame
as a bearing surface. At the same time, the gratings are either
hooked in the side walls of the containment device, attached to a
plug-in bearing rail or, if the containment device is equipped with
edge reinforcement, attached to the surrounding support surface.
Containment devices with edge reinforcement permit assembly
using connection profiles so that large surfaces can be covered.
(2) The product designation, main dimensions and corresponding
containment volume are summarised in annex 1.
(3) The containment devices may be positioned in buildings and in
the open air, but not in zone 0 and 1 areas with a risk of explosion.
(4) When installing in the open air, the containment devices must
be protected against storms and sufficiently covered to protect
against precipitation.
(5) The containment devices may be used for the siting, in
containers and vessels, of water-polluting liquids with a flash point
greater than 55 °C.
(6) Liquids from the media lists 40-2. 1.1 and 40-2.1.2
which may be allocated to the following named groups, do not
require any special proof of the leak-tightness and resistance of
the GRP-material of the containment device:
1 Aqueous organic acid solutions up to 10 %
1a Organic acids (carboxylic acids) withe the exception of formic
acid < 10%
2 Mineral acids up to 20 % as well as acidic hydrolytic salts in
aqueous solution (pH < 6), except for hydrofluoric acid and
oxidising acids and their salts.
3 Inorganic bases as well as alkaline hydrolytic salts in aqueous
solutions (pH > 8), with the exception of ammonia solutions
and oxidising salt solutions (e.g. hypochlorite).
4 Solutions of inorganic non-oxidising salts with a pH-value
between 6 and 8.
5 Heating oil EL in accordance with DIN 51603
in accordance with DIN EN 590
engine- and gear oils
(7) This generalConstruction Inspection Approval satisfies the
obligation to obtain a suitability determination for water regulations
and the qualification approval under § 19 h of the Water
Resources Act
