3 - Positioning of brackets 2.
a) Hold one of the brackets 2 against the wall at 1 or 2 mm from the ceiling or the upper
limit of the wall, with the centre notches aligned with the vertical line.
b) Mark the positions of the two fixing slots on the wall.
c) Hold the other bracket 2 against the wall aligned with the vertical line, at a distance X
as shown in fig. 2, corresponding to the length of the upper chimney section S supplied
with the hood. The distance X may vary according to the length of the upper chimney
section.
d) Mark the positions of the bracket fixing slots on the wall.
4 - Pilot drill all the marked fixing holes using a 8 mm Ø drill.
Fix the brackets using the 8 mm Ø wall plugs and screws supplied.
5 - Splashback (optional accessory)
The height of the hood from the cooktop is determined in this case by the height of the
splashback F and the height of the worktop upstand (if fitted). The splashback must be
fixed before the canopy is installed. If the splashback is to be fixed at both the top and
bottom, it will be necessary to ensure that it is positioned at the correct height before
installing the base units or at least before fixing the worktop. As this is a relatively precise
operation it should be undertaken by a competent person who knows the exact final
dimensions of the units. If the splashback is to be fixed only at the top, proceed as follows:
a) Put the splashback on the worktop and hold it against the wall as shown in fig. 2a.
b) Mark the positions of the two fixing holes in the upper edge.
c) Pilot drill the fixing holes using an 8 mm Ø drill. Fix the splashback using the 8 mm Ø
rawl plugs and screws supplied.
d) The choice whether securing or not the lower part of the splashback, is left to the
discretion of the installer.
4.2 - Fitting the canopy
1 - Hook the canopy C onto bracket 1.
2 - Adjust the vertical and horizontal position of the hood
by turning the M4 bolts R.
3 - Fix the hood to bracket 1 with the other M4x25 bolts
U supplied (fig. 3).
4.3 - Electrical connection and functional check
1 - The safety warnings 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4 of paragraph 3 are to be strictly observed.
2 - Connect the electrical supply cable, and check that the lighting, motor and fan speed
control work correctly.
