Opening the coverlid –
pushpiece I
The coverlid over the dial is opened by
actioning the pushpiece I at the cen-
tre of the crown (do not force the
mechanism). Close it by pressing it
back delicately against the watch face
until it clicks shut.
Important note
This watch is guaranteed water-
resistant to 30m, provided the crown
is in position 1.

A.-L. Breguet's historic invention,
the tourbillon regulator, was patent-
ed in 1801. This device was con-
ceived to compensate for the errors
in rate caused by the constant
changes in the watch's position. It
consists of mounting the escape-
ment and sprung balance in a
mobile carriage which rotates on
itself with utter regularity. Errors
are thus reproduced regularly and
cancel each other out, rather than
accumulating. Two centuries later
it remains a technical "tour de
force" of which very few watch-
makers are capable.
