8.8 Stand

• The stand and the spreader beam must be perfectly
matched.
• Storage or parking location must have a level floor, be
dry and free from coarse dirt or grime (low degree of
contamination).
• Ensure safe position of the stand and the spreader
beam.
• The Spreader Beam must be placed symmetrically
within the guiding sheets, slowly and without
oscillation. Danger of Finger crushing!
If the Spreader Beam oscillates strongly, people
in the vicinity can be hurt or the stand can be
damaged.
WARNING
If fingers are between the spreader
beam and the stand, while the
spreader beam is being set down,
they may be crushed.
CAUTION

8.9 Hints for Unloading

• Unload the Spreader Beam, lying horizontally on the
pallet, with a forklift. It must be ensured that the parts
of the Spreader Beam protruding over the edge of the
pallet do not scrape against or impact persons or
objects. Remove packing materials after unloading.
Lift the Spreader Beam with a crane (see 6.7). For the
dead weight of the Spreader Beam refer to the Type
Plate.
If parts of the Spreader Beam
protrude over the edge of the
pallet, there is the danger of pinched
or crushed fingers or
skin abrasions.
CAUTION
• Keep sufficient safety distance (at least 2 m) during
the unloading process.
• Never unload in haste and never stay in the danger
zone. Never unload or transport the spreader above
persons or Safety Zones.
When unloading hastily, the resulting
dynamic forces can cause the load
to fall out.
DANGER
• Do not set down the Spreader Beam on objects
standing nearby.
If the Spreader Beam is set down on
other objects, it can fall out or get
damaged.
CAUTION
