6 Safety
6.1 Safety information
WARNING!
Risk of falling!
– Do not use if defective.
– Do not make any unauthorized alterations or
modifications to the product.
– Do not move or displace the product under load
or during use.
– Only use the product on level ground.
– Only use accessories intended for this product.
WARNING!
– Before first use, clean the product thoroughly.
– Before every use, check the product for damage
and ensure that it is securely assembled.
This product does not require maintenance.

7 Intended use
This stepping aid is intended as an aid to enter into or get
out of a bathtub for persons with mobility limitations. The
maximum user weight is 150 kg.
Indication: If used without an assistant, the user should be
able to keep his balance. There are no contraindications
known, when using the product as intended.
Operating temperature: 10 – 40 °C
8 Scope of delivery (Fig. 1)
The Aquatec® Step is available with or without the non-slip,
removable cover option.
The following components are included in the scope of
delivery:

9 Removing and installing the non-slip
cover (Fig. 3)
1. To remove unbutton the cover A from the product.
2. To install rebutton the cover.

– Make sure that all 10 fastening buttons B are
securely fastened before using the product.
10 Cleaning and Disinfection
This product is maintenance-free, provided that the cleaning
and disinfection instructions are adhered to.

10.1 General safety information

CAUTION!
Risk of contamination
– Take precautions for yourself and use
appropriate protective equipment.
IMPORTANT!
Wrong fluids or methods can harm or damage
the product.
– All cleaning agents and disinfectants used must
be effective, compatible with one another and
must protect the materials they are used to
clean.
– Never use corrosive fluids (alkalines, acid etc.)
or abrasive cleaning agents. We recommend
an ordinary household cleaning agent such as
dishwashing liquid, if not specified otherwise in
the cleaning instructions.
– Never use a solvent (cellulose thinner, acetone
etc.) that changes the structure of the plastic
or dissolves the attached labels.
– Always make sure that the product is completely
dried before taking it into use again.
For cleaning and disinfection in clinical or long-term
care environments, follow your in-house procedures.

10.2 Cleaning Intervals

IMPORTANT!
Regular cleaning and disinfection enhances
smooth operation, increases the service life and
prevents contamination.
Clean and disinfect the product
– regularly while it is in use,
– before and after any service procedure,
– when it has been in contact with any body
fluids,
– before using it for a new user.
10.3 Cleaning
1. Remove the non-slip cover (if included) and
machine-wash at max. 60 °C.
2. Pull off the non-slip rubber caps.
3. Clean the frame and the non-slip rubber caps by wiping
down all generally accessible surfaces.
4. Dry the parts with a cloth.
5. Reinstall the rubber caps and the cover.

10.4 Disinfection instructions

Information on recommended disinfectants
and methods can be found on https://vah-

In domestic care
Method: Follow the application notes for the used
disinfectant and wipe disinfect all accessible surfaces.
Disinfectant: Ordinary household disinfectant.
