Intended Users and Patient Target Group:
Echo-Screen III devices are designed for use in medical environments, such as the well-baby nursery,
NICU, mother's bedside, audiology suite, outpatient clinic, or doctor's office, and in school environments.
Echo-Screen III devices are intended for use by audiologists, physicians, nurses, and technicians, and any
other personnel who are trained to operate the device. Basic training with the device is sufficient for
performing screening of patients in good health.
Clinical Benefits:
The Echo-Screen III device detects hearing loss by using Automated Otoacoustic Emissions (AOAE
)
®
technology, which includes Transient Evoked Otoacoustic Emissions (TEOAE), Distortion Product
Otoacoustic Emissions (DPOAE), and Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) technology.
Contraindications and Side Effects:
There are no known contraindications or side effects for procedures performed with the Echo-Screen III
Battery Pack.
Operating Instructions:
The Echo-Screen III Pro device is shipped with two partially charged batteries. Before using the device,
you must fully charge the battery you use in the device. Fully charge the spare battery before use as well.
You can dock the device in the docking station to charge both batteries simultaneously. The Echo-Screen
III Pro docking station controls the charge process automatically. Two battery LEDs indicate charging
progress. The LEDs glow amber while a battery is charging and glow blue when a battery is fully charged.
The battery LED on the device indicates the charge status of the battery installed in the device, and the
LED on the docking station indicates the charge status of the spare battery.
