2 - Calculating length Y to be cut (See figure 5)
. Measure on the patient his knee/ground distance. This measurement must be made without shoes. For the
knee, the measure will be considered as beginning at the physiological joint axis.
KNEE / GROUND MEASURED ON A PATIENT = W
- Calculate the cut length Y
This value is the result of the following formula : Y = X - W
3 - Frame and rod cutting, connection holes
CAUTION : Do not adjust the green knob of the hydraulic unit.
. Fit the frame A / hydraulic unit B / rod C in the cutting block as shown in figure 6, taking care to adjust the
distance Y. Tighten the frame and rod locking screws.
- Use a hacksaw with a blade for cutting steel to cut the rod C (see figure 6) along surface S of the cutting block
(see fig. 6), then cut the frame A along surface T of the cutting block.
- With a ø 7 mm drill, bore 4 connection holes using the guide holes R of the cutting block (see figure 6).
- Remove the { frame / hydraulic unit / rod } assembly from the cutting block and burrs.
IV : ASSEMBLING (See figures 7, 8, 9 and 10)
1 - Fitting the ankle joint
Detach the eyelet from the joint assembly (See figure 7)
- Undo the screw N
- Drive out the pin O
- Remove the eyelet P
Fit the eyelet to the rear rod (See figure 8)
CAUTION :
Keep in place the tool for locking in rotation.
- Screw
- Do not tighten the lock nut V.
