Installation and Tension the Chain
To prevent SERIOUS INJURY:
- DO NOT connect power until instructed.
- To prevent INJURY, keep hands and fingers away from joints and possible sharp edges.
- Keep hands and fingers clear from sprocket during operation.
- Wear gloves when installing chain and cable.
- Keep hands and fingers away from joints and possible sharp edges

WARNING
To Install the Chain
1. Insert a screwdriver temporarily into the hole in the header
segment of the T-rail. Slide the trolley up to the screwdriver.
The trolley must stay in this position for proper alignment.
2. Bring the end of the chain and hole in front end of trolley
together and connect with master link.
3. Dispense the chain around the front idler sprocket and run it
to the motor sprocket.
4. Attach the trolley threaded shaft to the trolley.

Tighten the Chain

1. Adjust chain tension by turning flange nut until chain is
about 1/4 inch (.64cm) above the base of rail.
2. Once proper tension is achieved, tighten flange nut against
to trolley. When the chain is tight around the rail and
sprockets, check and make sure the chain is aligned correctly.
3. Securely attach Sprocket Cover to garage door opener.
Note
During operation, it is normal for the chain to appear loose
when the door is closed. If the chain returns to the position as
shown above when the door is opened, the chain is adjusted
properly. DO NOT re-tighten the chain.
When performing maintenance, always PULL the Emergency
Release to DISCONNECT the door from Opener before
adjusting the chain.
