WARNING!
IN AN EMERGENCY, RELEASE THE JOYSTICK. THE WHEELCHAIR WILL STOP
AUTOMATICALLY
DRIVING UP A SLOPE
International standards set the maximum safe gradient on which an electric wheelchair can
be driven without any difficulty. This value is set as 6°/10%. The Moretti electric wheelchair
can travel on slopes with a gradient up to 6°/10%. If you need to drive it on the maximum
gradient, you may need to travel at a higher speed. Press the "speed" button to increase the
speed. Be extremely careful when travelling on steep slopes.
DRIVING DOWN A SLOPE
Proceed slowly down steep descents. Press the "speed" button to reduce the speed.
This allows better control of driving. The wheelchair will not accelerate on its own down
a slope in any case, due to the automatic braking system, which starts functioning if you
attempt to increase the speed. In general, you should drive in a linear manner on slopes,
without sudden changes in direction, and never stop the wheelchair on a slope that exceeds
the safety limit.
GOING OVER OBSTACLES
Go over obstacles slowly and in a forwards direction. Do not go over obstacles from the side.
This will allow you to go over obstacles up to 4 cm. Do not go over obstacles higher than 4 cm.
MOVEMENT
If you need to move the electric wheelchair, switch off the controller by pressing the ON/OFF
button, position the motor unlocking levers on N (NEUTRAL), move the electric wheelchair
into a secure position, then reposition the motor unlocking levers on D (DRIVE).
15. GENERAL PRECAUTIONS
• The electric wheelchair can only be used by one person at a time
• The maximum permitted weight is 136 Kg
• Always use the safety belt provided with your electric wheelchair
• Before getting into or out of the electric wheelchair, check that it is switched off and that
the battery charger is disconnected.
• Always drive carefully and with feet resting firmly on the footplates, taking care if there
are other people present in the area where you are travelling
• Use pedestrian routes whenever possible. Take extreme care when crossing roads
• Although the electric wheelchair is designed for slopes with a gradient up to 6°/10%, try to
avoid slopes with a gradient over 6°/10% and take extreme care when turning on a slope
• Do not use the maximum power on sharp bends
• Only drive the electric wheelchair after checking that all the parts are firmly attached, in
the most comfortable driving position
• Do not drive the electric wheelchair if the rear roll-over protection wheels are damaged or
have been removed
• Lower speed when reversing, driving down a slope, on uneven ground or when turning
• Never place the electric wheelchair motors on "N" (NEUTRAL) on a descent
• Follow all the rules of the highway code
• It is not recommended to use the electric wheelchair on wet or damp ground, as the
warranty does not cover damage caused by water
