5.7. IRONING TIPS
EN
■
Before ironing, sort garments according to the ironing instructions on the care
labels or by fabric type.
■
Always start with the garments that require the lowest temperature setting. Then
continue with the garments that require a higher temperature setting, and so on,
increasing the temperature setting gradually. It takes an iron longer to cool down
than to heat up.
■
Always test on a small, discreet area before ironing the entire piece to ensure the
temperature is not set too high.
■
Silk and dark fabrics are prone to have shine marks. Turn them inside out before
ironing.
■
To avoid scorching delicate fabrics, turn the garment inside out and use a pressing
cloth between the garment and the iron.
■
Iron fabrics with special finishes (polishes, folds, contrasts, etc.) at a low
temperature.
■
When ironing a fabric blend, always choose the lowest temperature setting of the
two fabrics. For example, if a garment is made of 60% polyester and 40% cotton,
use a temperature suitable for polyester and do not use the steam function.
6. CLEANING AND CARE
