4. BEFORE FIRST USE

After unpacking the appliance, remove any protective stickers or film from the
soleplate.

Check for damage that may have occurred during transport. If any parts are
damaged or missing, do not use the appliance and return it to the dealer
immediately.

Upon first use, steam iron on an old towel for a few minutes to clear any factory
residue from the water tank (→ HORIZONTAL STEAM IRONING).
NOTE: When using the appliance for the first time, you might notice a mild odour
or hear noises produced by expanding plastics. This is normal and will eventually
disappear with continued use.
