2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
ATTENTION for safe operation. For your personal
safety and that of third parties, comply with the fo-
llowing precautions:
This machine has been designed for safe opera-
tion if used in accordance with the instructions
for use. Therefore, it is recommended to read
and understand the user manual before starting the machine to
avoid any risk of personal injury or property damage.
Exhaust gases contain carbon monoxide. Do not
start the machine in an enclosed place. Check
that the working area is adequately ventilated.
If it is put into operation in a closed place, adequate safety ven-
tilation.
The rotary rotavator is sharp and rotates at
high speed. Accidental contact can cause se-
rious injury.
- Keep the upper and lower limbs of the body away from the machi-
ne elements when the engine is running.
- Stop the engine and disengage before performing any inspection
or maintenance operation and at all times the operator moves away
from the machine.
- Unplug the spark plug from the spark plug to prevent accidental
starting. Wear heavy protective gloves to protect hands from
sharpening elements during cleaning, inspection or replacement
operations.
- Given the very high noise and vibration values transmitted to
the operator, it is mandatory to protect with adequate individual
protection devices for both risks and to program suitable breaks
between the work phases.
Operator Responsibility
- Keep the machine in good working condition, otherwise personal
injury may result. Never damage the machine.
- Check that the safety devices are working and that the danger
warning plates are attached.
- Check that the guards (crankcase, self-start casing) are correctly
positioned.
- Learn how to stop the engine and sharpening elements in an emer-
gency. Know the function of all controls.
- It is necessary to hold the handlebar hard as it has to raise
upwards in the moment of clutching.
- The use of the machine by people who have not had the proper
training can cause serious personal injury.
- Wear strong, closed protective shoes, avoiding to operate the ma-
chine with bare feet or with open shoes or sandals.
- Do not wear loose clothing that may be caught in the moving parts
of the machine.
- The operator must always be very attentive. Do not use the scoo-
ter if you are tired, sick, or after drinking alcoholic beverages.
- Do not allow people or animals to approach the work area.
-The operator is responsible for the damage done to people, things,
animals.
- Check that the drawbar is correctly positioned and adjusted.
- Pay particular attention to working on difficult terrain (stony or
very hard).
- Walk, never run with the machine.
Safety for children
- Keep children in a closed place and watch them constantly if
nearby electrical equipment is used.
- Pay close attention and turn off the motorcycle if children are
approaching the work area.
- Children are not allowed to use the machine, also under the su-
pervision
of an adult.
Danger of accidental firing of objects
- Objects struck by rotating blades can be fired with great force,
causing personal injury.
- Before cleaning, clean the area of sticks, large stones, cables,
pieces of glass, etc.
- Work only during daylight hours.
- Objects thrown by worn or damaged blades can cause serious
injury.
- Always check your conditions before undertaking work.
Danger of fire or burns
Gasoline is highly flammable and vapors are potentially explosive.
Pay the utmost attention during handling.
Keep the gasoline out of the reach of children and kept in suitable
containers.
- The fuel supply must be carried out in well-ventilated areas and
with the engine switched off.
- Wait for the engine to cool down. Vapors or fuel leaks are poten-
tially explosive.
- The engine and exhaust system are heated during operation and
their temperature remains high for a certain period after the machi-
ne is turned off. Contact with hot engine components can cause
burns and danger of explosion.
- Do not touch the hot engine or the exhaust system.
- Allow the engine to cool down before carrying out any mainte-
nance work on the machine or before storing it in a closed place.
Danger of carbon monoxide poisoning
Exhaust gases contain carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless gas.
Inhalation may cause fainting with fatal consequences. In the case
of operation in a fenced or partially enclosed area, the air being
breathed may have high concentrations of harmful exhaust gases.
Provide adequate ventilation.
