3.3. INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE OPERATORS
The product is intended for professional use. The operators, in addition to the necessary technical knowledge, must have attained
specific experience in the health sector: in particular, they must have acquired practical skills in the use of scoop stretchers. They
must also be in the appropriate physical condition, that is, have the muscular strength and coordination to guarantee the maximum
level of security for the patient.
To operate in conditions of safety and efficiency, the stretcher requires the use of two qualified and trained operators on the foot and
on the head side of the stretcher. The operators must check, before and during the transport, that the patient is firmly secured to the
stretcher with the safety belts supplied and that the side rails are raised.
In special cases (ex. lifting of heavy loads) the presence of additional operators / auxiliary assistants, arranged according to the
following table, may be required. In these cases, the control and coordination of the stretcher movements belong to the qualified
operators, while the additional helpers must contribute to the movements following the indications of the qualified operators.
In any case, the position of all operators must always be directed towards the patient.
The table shows, depending on the type of operation, the placement of operators and helpers.
