5 Troubleshooting
Fault
The status LEDs are not lit,
receiver and transmitter not ready for
operation
4-20 mA output and status LEDs
indicate "Beam Block"
4-20 mA output or status LEDs
indicate "Fault"
No communication possible via the
communication connector
No 4-20 mA signal
Status LEDs on the transmitter
indicate "Warning"
Zero calibration not completed
successfully

Cause
Power supply incorrect
Measuring path between receiver and
transmitter blocked
Lens on the receiver or transmitter soiled
Transmitter and receiver not correctly aligned
Receiver and transmitter set to different
channels
Transmitter not active (e.g. no power supply)
If „Beam Block" lasts too long, the status
changes to "Fault".
Several other fault causes possible
Batteries in the Pulsar interface adapter empty Replace batteries.
Connector not fully inserted.
Gas warning system not supplied with voltage Connect the power supply.
Communication connector faulty
4-20 mA line incorrectly connected
DIGITAL LINK connection damaged
no DIGITAL LINK connection installed
Receiver lens or transmitter lens soiled
Transmitter and receiver not correctly aligned
Gas in the measuring path
Several other fault causes possible
Remedy
Establish correct power supply.
Clear the measuring path.
Clean lenses.
Align the transmitter and receiver.
Set the same channel on receiver and
transmitter.
Ensure that the transmitter is
functioning.
Check if there is any obstacle in the
measuring path. Remove obstacle if
applicable.

Connect HART handheld terminal or
PC software, export and correct fault.
Inform Dräger Service if necessary.
Establish correct connection.
Return device or contact Dräger
Service.
Check the 4-20 mA line.
Establish a correct connection.
Set transmitter to alignment mode.
Clean lenses.
Align transmitter and receiver.
Ensure that there is no gas in the
measuring path during zero calibration.

Connect HART handheld terminal or
PC software, export and correct fault.
Inform Dräger Service if necessary.
