Maintenance
6.1
Special conditions
The gas warning system is explosion proof. The housing must not be opened.
The explosion proof joint must not be repaired.
Do not open the gas warning system when it is energized unless the area is known to be free of ignitable concentrations.
6.2
Maintenance table
Dräger recommends maintaining the gas warning system every 6 months. The maintenance interval can be extended to
max. 24 months under the following conditions:
The lenses do not become soiled.
The zero point (= 4 mA output value) remains stable during the time of the maintenance interval.
Work to be completed
Clean lenses (see section 6.3.1 on page 23)
Check the alignment of the gas warning system (see section 6.3.1 on page 23)
Check the function using test gas sheets (see section 4.2.6 on page 16, step 9.)
Check the signal line (see section 6.3.4 on page 25)
Calibrate 4 to 20 mA interface (see section 6.3.3 on page 24)
Dräger recommends logging maintenance work. The log should contain the following:
Date of the installation and supplier performing the work
Serial number
Entries for each maintenance activity performed, including details on the firm, date and staff ID.
If a device is sent to Dräger for maintenance purposes, a copy of the log should be included.
6.3
Maintenance work
SIL lock must be deactivated during maintenance work. The master password allows full access to parameterization and
configuration. The maintenance password allows to access all maintenance functions (alignment and calibration).
The passwords may be changed (see section 8.4 on page 29). On delivery, SIL lock is deactivated.
The data must either be entered via HART
computer and PolySoft.
6.3.1
Cleaning the lenses
1. Clean the lenses of the gas warning system using a soft cloth and fresh, clean water or lens cleaning fluid LCF 01.
2. Perform a zero calibration (see section 4.2.6 on page 16).
