Only use the following batteries and chargers with
this tool
- SKIL battery: BR1*31****
- SKIL charger: CR1*31****
Do not use the battery when damaged; it should be
replaced immediately
Do not disassemble the battery
Do not expose tool/battery to rain
Permitted ambient temperature (tool/charger/battery):
- when charging 4...40°C
- during operation -20...+50°C
- during storage -20...+50°C
EXPLANATION OF SYMBOLS ON TOOL/BATTERY

4 Batteries may explode when disposed of in fire, so do not
burn battery for any reason
5 Store tool/charger/battery in locations where temperature
will not exceed 50°C
6 Do not dispose of electric tools and batteries together
with household waste material
USE
Charging battery
! read the safety warnings and instructions
provided with the charger
Removing/installing the battery 2
Battery level indicator 7
- press the battery level indicator button H to show the
current battery level 7a
! when the lowest level of the battery indicator
starts flashing after pressing button H7b, the
battery is empty
! when 2 levels of the battery indicator start flashing
after pressing button H7c, the battery is not
within the allowable operating temperature range
Battery protection
The tool is suddenly being switched off or prevented from
being switched on, when
- the load is too high --> remove load and restart
- the battery temperature is not within the allowable
operating temperature range of -20 to +50°C -->2
levels of the battery level indicator start flashing when
pressing button H7c; wait until battery has returned
within the allowable operating temperature range
- the battery is nearly empty (to protect against
deep discharge) --> a low battery level or flashing low
battery level 7b is shown by the battery level indicator
when pressing button H; charge battery
! do not continue to press the on/off switch after the
tool is switched off automatically; battery may be
damaged
Attaching belt clip 8
- attach the belt clip L to the wrench with the supplied
screw
Changing direction of rotation 9
- when not properly set in left/right position, switch E2
cannot be activated
! change direction of rotation only when tool is at a
complete standstill
Combined switch for on/off q and speed control w
- control the speed steplessly from zero to maximum by
putting less or more pressure on the E2
LED-light e
- LED-light turns on when activating on/off switch E, or
pressing either LED-light button F or mode button G
- Press LED-light button to select desired brightness:
Low brightness – turns off approx. 10s after on/off
switch is released
High brightness - turns off approx. 600s after on/off
switch is released
! When LED-light starts flashing rapidly, the battery
protection is activated (see above)
Mode selection r
- press the mode button G to select the desired mode:
Low speed mode (light "1" shines green) ra
- tightening with less torque and low speed
- for small bolts and screws
Medium speed mode (lights "1&2" shine green) rb
- tighten with medium torque and speed
- for the screws in medium-duty application
High speed mode (lights "1&2&3" shine green) rc
- tightening with high force and speed
- for large screws and bolts
Reverse control mode (light "RM" shines green) rd
- for loosening bolts and nuts
- stops when the bolt or nut is loosened
! control mode is only available with reverse
rotation; in forward rotation it is used for high
speed
! modes can only be changed when green LED(s)
are activated and when the tool is at a complete
standstill
Installing and removing sockets t
- to install a socket, simply push it onto to square drive D
- to remove a socket, simply pull it off square drive D
! only use sockets with a 3/8" square drive ta
! use adapter M for sockets with a 1/2" square drive

! do not use damaged sockets
Holding and guiding the tool y
! while working, always hold the tool at the grey-
coloured grip area(s)
- keep ventilation slots B2 uncovered
- do not apply too much pressure on the tool; let the tool
do the work for you
APPLICATION ADVICE
Use the appropriate bits
When turning in a screw at/near the cross cut end or an
edge of wood, pre-drill a hole in order to avoid cracking
of the wood
For an optimal use of the tool a steady pressure on the
screw is required, especially while removing
When screwdriving in hard wood one should pre-drill a
hole

This tool is not intended for professional use
Always keep tool clean (especially ventilation slots B2)
! Remove battery from tool before cleaning
If the tool should fail despite the care taken in
manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should
be carried out by an after-sales service centre for SKIL
power tools
- send the tool undismantled together with proof of
