When setting down the machine, unlock the buckle of
the waist belt, and then set down the machine slowly.

NOTE: You can stir the liquid in the tank by turning
the strainer as shown in the figure.

MAINTENANCE
CAUTION:
Always be sure that all the battery
cartridges are removed from the machine before
storing or carrying the machine or attempting to
perform inspection or maintenance.
To maintain product SAFETY and RELIABILITY,
repairs, any other maintenance or adjustment should
be performed by Makita Authorized or Factory Service
C e n t e r s , a l w a y s u s i n g M a k i t a r e p l a c e m e n t p a r t s .
Draining the liquid
W h e n d r a i n i n g t h e l i q u i d i n t h e t a n k , r e m o v e t h e h o s e
f r o m
t h e m a i n u n i t , a n d t h e n d r a i n t h e l i q u i d i n t h e t a n k
into the container by opening the draining lever. After
draining the liquid, be sure to close the draining lever,
a n d a t t a c h t h e h o s e t o t h e m a i n u n i t .

Cleaning the machine
NOTICE:
Never use gasoline, benzine, thinner,
alcohol or the like. Discoloration, deformation or
cracks may result.
Clean the machine by wiping o dust with a dry cloth or
o n e d i p p e d i n s o a p y w a t e r a n d w r u n g o u t .

Cleaning the filter
Clean the filter regularly. To clean the filter, follow the
steps below.
1.
Remove the battery cartridges, and then close the
t a n k l e v e r .
2.
Remove the filter cap by turning it counterclock-
wise, and then remove the filter.

Clean the filter with running water.
4.
Attach the filter to the main unit, and then tighten
the filter cap.
5.

Storage

You can connect the band of the pipe to the machine as
shown in the figure to stand up the pipe.

Changing the nozzle
Y o u c a n c h a n g e t h e s t a n d a r d n o z z l e t o t h e U L V ( U l t r a

finer mist than the standard nozzle. To change the
nozzle, follow the steps below.
1.
L o o s e n t h e s c r e w a n d r e m o v e i t , a n d t h e n r e m o v e
t h e f r o n t s i d e o f t h e e n d n o z z l e .

Remove the standard nozzle by turning the nozzle
c o u n t e r c l o c k w i s e u s i n g t h e w r e n c h .

Attach the ULV nozzle by turning the nozzle clock-
w i s e u s i n g t h e w r e n c h .

NOTICE:
Do not tighten the nozzle too much.
The recommended tightening torque is approxi-
mately 1.0 N • m. T i g h t e n i n g t h e n o z z l e t o o m u c h m a y
d a m a g e t h e m o u n t i n g p a r t f o r n o z z l e .
