DEBUT 50R Front Panel
1. INPUT
Plug your guitar in here. Always use a good quality screened guitar lead.
2. VOLUME
This controls the volume of the Clean Channel. Turning it clockwise increases the
volume.
When the Clean Channel is selected, low settings (counter clockwise), will deliver a
clean sound. As the Volume control is increased clockwise the sound will move from
clean into break-up until, at its maximum position, a light crunch tone is achieved.
3. BRIGHT SWITCH
This switch adds high-end frequencies to the Clean Channel, delivering sparkling
clean tones.
4. OD (OVERDRIVE)
Press this switch to select the Overdrive Channel. When the switch is in the Overdrive
Channel is selected. When the switch is out the Clean Channel is in operation.
5. GAIN
The Gain control adjusts the amount of overdrive or distortion. Low settings will
deliver a dynamic crunch. As the Gain control is increased clockwise the sound will
become more overdriven moving from a full crunch up to a saturated lead tone at
its maximum position.
6. VOLUME
This controls the volume of the Overdrive Channel. Turning it clockwise increases
the volume.
7. EQUALISATION
The Bass, Middle and Treble controls will increase the relevant frequencies when
turned clockwise and decrease when turned counter clockwise.
8. ISF (Infinite Shape Feature)
The patented ISF control works in conjunction with the Bass, Middle and Treble
controls. It allows you to choose the exact tonal signature you prefer. Fully counter
clockwise has a more American characteristic with a tight bottom-end and more
aggressive middle, and fully clockwise has a British characteristic which is more
'woody' and less aggressive. Unlike conventional 'contour' controls and parametric
equalisation systems, the Bass, Middle and Treble controls remain interactive with
each other just like in a traditional guitar amplifier tone
stack. This leads to a very familiar, musical response.
We recommend that to start with the ISF is set to half
way and the Bass, Middle and Treble are set to taste.
Then try gradually adjusting the ISF CW and CCW
until you find the sound you prefer.

9. PLATE / HALL REVERB
Choose a plate or hall reverb effect. When the switch is pressed in a bright plate
reverb is engaged. When the switch is out, a darker and longer decay hall reverb
effect is engaged.
10. REVERB LEVEL
This controls the overall level of the reverb effect. Turn clockwise for a more reverb-
rich wet sound, dial back counter clockwise for a subtler ambience to your sound.
11. POWER REDUCTION
Your DEBUT 50R is a 50W amplifier, however you can keep the neighbours happy
and push the switch in for a power reduction down to 5W, without sacrificing your
tone.
12. POWER INDICATOR LIGHT
The power indicator will light when the amplifier is switched on.
13. POWER
This switch is used to turn the amplifier on and off.
DEBUT 50R Rear Panel
1. MAINS INPUT
The mains lead should only be connected to a power outlet that is compatible with
the voltage, power and frequency requirements stated on the rear panel. If in doubt
get advice from a qualified technician.
2. LINE OUT / HEADPHONES
This output emulates the tonal characteristics of a guitar speaker cabinet and
provides a natural tone for connection to a recording device or mixing desk, and
for use with headphones.
NOTE: When a lead is connected here the combo's internal speaker is disconnected.
3. FOOTSWITCH
A 2-button latching footswitch (sold separately) can be connected here. Button 1
will toggle between the Clean and Overdrive channels. Button 2 will turn the Reverb
effect on and off.
4. LINE IN
Connect the output of your MP3 or CD player here. Adjust the player's volume to
match that of your guitar to enable you to play along.
NOTE: The source is summed to mono through the amp speaker and stereo
through the LINE OUT / HEADPHONES.
5. EFFECTS LOOP
Add external effects to the series Effects Loop. Connect the (mono) input of an
external effects unit to SEND, and connect the (mono) output of an external effects
unit to RETURN.
