CLEANING
The outer surfaces of the filter (not including the water outlet) can be cleaned with a single-use disinfectant wipe, following
the cleaning protocols commonly implemented in healthcare establishments (wear protective equipment, specific protocol, etc.).
5
TECHNICAL PERFORMANCE AND EXPOSURE TO CHEMICAL AND THERMAL TREATMENTS
Conditions of use:
The performance of BIOFIL filters is guaranteed when the pressure and temperature of the water in the network are respectively
between 1 and 5 bar/5 °C and 42 °C. The measured outlet water flow rates are as follows:
Flow rate (L/min) - Tap 2M
Flow rate (L/min) - Tap 3M
Flow rate (L/min) - Tap 4M
Flow rate (L/min) - Shower head 2M
Flow rate (L/min) - Shower head 3M
Flow rate (L/min) - Shower head 4M
Exposure to chemical and thermal treatments:
The filter can tolerate the following treatments:
• Heat treatment of 70 °C for 30 minutes (maximum cumulative).
• Chemical treatment: active chlorine.
- Filter 2M: 100 ppm for 2 hours.
- Filter 3M: 100 ppm for 3 hours.
- Filter 4M: 100 ppm for 4 hours.
Replace the filter if the chemical or thermal treatment exceeds these thresholds.
Clogging tolerance:
If the water in the drinking water network has an unusual rate of particles or microorganisms in suspension, it is possible to
observe a decrease in the output flow rate before the theoretical decommissioning date (date of entry into service + theoretical
duration of use).
When the flow rate becomes insufficient, replace the filter.
Warning: Clogging may occur before the theoretical discharge date, but it does not directly affect the patient.
Tip: In the case of early clogging, pre-filtration at different levels of the system is recommended to stop suspended solids and/
or colloids.

ELIMINATION
Used filters do not pose a risk of infection. Like all bimaterial packages, they are classified as waste similar to household waste.
The instructions and the cardboard box are recyclable (paper, cardboard).
7
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
• Wash and disinfect your hands before touching or cleaning a filter.
• Purge the tap before installing the filter to avoid early clogging.
• Do not use the filter if the packaging and/or the filter are damaged.
• Avoid collisions or bumps with the filter. Replace if damaged.
• Discard and replace any filter that appears visually soiled or contaminated.
• Do not disconnect the filter while in use.
• The water outlet must not come into contact with skin or hair. In the case of contact, there is a risk of back contamination.
It is advisable to replace the filter.
• If there is a decrease in water flow, it is advisable to replace the filter.
• Once disconnected, the filter should be discarded (single use).
• The microfiltration cartridge must not be adapted, modified or opened.
• The filter must not be used for the production of water for pharmaceutical use.
• The filter does not change the potability of the water, and it does not modify its concentration of salts, metals, scale, chemicals,
pesticides or dyes.
• Shower filters must always be repositioned on the support after use.
