Description
Rate: 1 l/min, Range: 2 to 23 l/min, Regulating range: 2 to 30 l/min.
The solenoid valve in the feed case is open; the EWR regulates the gas volume flow. Depending on the
shunt signal, the EWR adds a value between 0 and 7 l/min linearly to the base flow.
13.6 Shunt types on page EN-23
Rate: 0.1 bar, Range: 0.2 to 2.0 bar
The set-pressure should be set with the solenoid valve in the feed case closed between the EWR outlet
and solenoid valve.
The set point to be set depends on the back-pressure of the peripheral devices, for example, on the
length/radius of the EWR cable assembly, amount of dirt and debris in the gas nozzle, etc.
The shielding gas that is used can be set.
There are ten memory locations.
Memory locations 0–4 are preconfigured with conventional standard gases. Memory locations 5–9 can
be configured as desired. The designation of the open memory locations can be changed only with the
ERW service software.
The gas factor for self-configured gas types should be calculated and set in this submenu item. Set the gas
factor for the gas already selected under "3 Gas type". The gas factor can be calculated from different
and any number of gases and then entered. In the case of mixed gases, the factor should be calculated
as follows using factors for the individual gas components:
82% argon / 18% CO2
Argon = 0.851 / CO2 = 0.809
Total calculation factor:
(Percentage of argon × argon calculation factor) + (percentage of CO2 × CO2 calculation factor)
(0.82 × 0.851) + (0.18 × 0.809) = 0.843
