Storage of the generator set
7.1
Storage instructions for
P3000, P6500, P8000
7.1.1
Drain fuel
1. Remove the draining bolt from the carburettor and
drain the fuel from the fuel tank and carburettor.
2. Tighten the oil draining bolt again.
If the fuel is not drained, the fuel will
evaporate and flow into the air. The
residues may block the carburettor.
7.1.2
Protective treatment
Store the generator set in a clean and dry place,
protected from rain and high temperature. Shield the
generator set with cardboard or plastic to keep dust
from entering.
7.2
Storage instructions for
P2000i, P3500i
Long term storage of your machine will require some
preventive procedures to guard against deterioration.
7.2.1
Drain fuel
1. Turn the choke switch to OFF.
2. Remove the fuel tank cap and remove the filter.
3. Extract the fuel from the fuel tank into an
approved gasoline container using a commercially
available hand siphon.
4. Reinstall the fuel tank cap.
Fuel
is
highly
flammable
poisonous. Immediately wipe off
spilled fuel with a clean, dry, soft
cloth,
as
fuel
may
painted surfaces or plastic parts.
5. Start the engine and let it run for approximately 20
minutes until it runs out of fuel and stops.
Do not connect with any electrical
devices. (Unloaded operation)
6. Drain the fuel from the carburettor by loosening
the drain screw on the carburettor float chamber.
7. Turn the choke switch to OFF.
8. Tighten the drain screw.

7.2.2
Protective treatment
Perform the following steps to protect the cylinder,
piston ring,... from corrosion:
1. Remove the spark plug; pour about one table-
spoon of SAE 10W-30 into the spark plug hole
and reinstall the spark plug.
2. Recoil start the engine by turning over several
times (with choke switched turned OFF) to coat
the cylinder walls with oil.
3. Pull the recoil starter until you feel compression.
This prevents the cylinder and valves from
rusting.
4. Clean the outside of the engine and spray anti-rust
and
additive.
5. Store the generator set in a dry, well-ventilated
place protected from rain and high temperature.

6. Lay the engine vertically.
