3.5 Intended use
The product described is a pipe laser. It is designed for determining, transferring or checking levels in the
horizontal and inclined planes.
If the product is set up outside its self-leveling range, the laser beam and the LED on the control panel flash.
The direction in which the product needs to be tilted is also indicated on the display.
The product is designed to withstand submersion to depths up to 5 m for up to 24 hours.
• For this product, use only Hilti Li­ion batteries of the PPA 102 type.
• For these batteries, use only the Hilti PP 103 charger.

Explanation
Message displayed while laser positioning is in progress
Is displayed directly after switch-on and while laser positioning is in progress.
The laser does not respond to operator inputs while this message is visible.
Safety lock
If, for any reason, the laser is moved after the laser beam was switched off by
means of the remote control unit (standby), a safety lock is activated. This is a
precaution to ensure operational accuracy. The words SAFETY LOCK appear
on the display and the laser beam flashes.
To reset the laser, press the on/off button to switch it off, then check the
position of the laser and switch it on again. While the safety lock is activated
the laser cannot be switched on or off by means of the remote control unit.
Setting laser position / re-confirming inclination value
Appears whenever adjustment / confirmation of the value is necessary.
Operation of the laser is not possible while this message is visible.
PRESS SET KEY appears when setting has completed. Press the SET button
to confirm the value.
