5.2 Installing/removing the battery
Charge the battery fully before using it for the first time.
WARNING
Risk of injury by short circuit or falling battery!
▶ Before inserting the battery, make sure that the contacts on the battery and the contacts on the product
are free of foreign matter.
▶ Make sure that the battery always engages correctly.
1. Turn the latch of the battery compartment to the Open position.
2. Pull the battery holder out of the laser.
3. Insert the battery into the battery holder.
4. Push the battery holder into the laser.
5. Turn the latch of the battery compartment to the Lock position to lock the holder in position.
The battery holder must be locked in order to prevent penetration of moisture into the laser.
6. The procedure for removing the battery is the reverse of the installation procedure.
▶ Switch the laser off before removing the battery.
5.3 Using suitable feet
1. Install the feet that are correct for the pipe diameter.

150 mm (6 in)
200 mm (8 in)
250 mm (10 in)
300 mm (12 in)
▶ Set the target plate to the corresponding value.
If the laser is unsteady, use the pointed foot at one position.
2. Use the feet for 200 mm (8 in) if the pipe has none of the diameters stated above or if the laser has to be
positioned on top of the pipe.
▶ Also set the target plate to a value of 200 mm.
6 Operation
Observe the safety instructions and warnings in this documentation and on the product.
6.1 Setting up the laser
Always set up the laser in such a way that the bubble of the digital spirit level is centered.
▶ Set up the laser in such a way that the inclination of the ground where the laser is standing is within the
range for auto-leveling (±10 %).
During auto-leveling, the laser beam moves so that correct alignment can be achieved. The laser
does not respond to operator inputs while this is ongoing (duration: approx. 30 seconds).
6.2 Setting up target plate
1. Insert the required target plate into the target-plate holder.
2. Move the target plate up or down until the arrow points to the appropriate pipe diameter.
3. Secure the target plate in this position by tightening the securing screw.
4. When setting up the target plate, make sure that the detection stripes are toward the laser.
5. Set up the target plate in such a way that the bubble in the spirit level on the holder is exactly centered.
