Calibration
7.1.1
Checking calibration
1. Set the laser beam to an inclination of 00.000 % (0‰).
2. Set up one surveyor's staff at a distance of 1 m from the laser.
3. Set up a second surveyor's staff at a distance of 60 m from the first surveyor's staff.
4. Set up an optical level in the halfway between the two leveling staffs and read the heights from both
staffs.
5. Note down the values (x1 and x2) at which the laser beam hits the staffs.
6. Note down the values (x3 and x4) that you read from the staffs with the optical level.
7. Calculate the difference between the readings from optical level and laser for the two leveling staffs
(A=x3x1 and B=x4x2).
▶ If both values are identical, the laser is correctly calibrated.
▶ If the values differ, the laser has to be calibrated. → page 29
