operating temperature thanks to internal circulation in
the boiler circuit. This will prevent excessive cooling
of the flue gases and the temperature from dropping
below the dew point. In this way damage to the heat
exchanger due to condensation is prevented.
Warning in case of drop in
water pressure
The thermal protection mechanism requires a certain
initial cold-water pressure. If this pressure drops, for
example because the water supply has failed, the
heat exchanger must not be used. The protection
against overheating is then no longer assured.
Use of the flue gas valve
In order to prevent a backdraught when the door of the
fireplace is opened, first open the flue gas valve
before opening the door of the fireplace.
To open the flue gas valve: pull out the operating
knob of the flue gas valve.
To close the flue gas valve: push in the operating
knob of the flue gas valve.
Operation of the circulation
pump
The circulation pump switches on and off auto-
matically depending on the temperature of the flue gas
and the temperature of the water in the heat exchan-
ger.
The pump switches on when the flue gas tem-
perature rises above 120°C or the water tem-
perature in the heat exchanger rises above 80°C.
The pump switches off when the flue gas tem-
perature drops below approximately 100°C or the
water temperature in the heat exchanger drops
below approximately 70°C.

Maintenance
Annual thermal safety check
The thermal protection must be checked at least once
a year. The check must be carried out by a recognised
expert. If the thermal protection proves to be defec-
tive, it must be repaired.
Inside cleaning
Clean the inside of the heat exchanger regularly with a
steel pipe brush and a vacuum cleaner. How often you
should clean the inside depends on how often you use
the fireplace. To clean the heat exchanger, you must
first remove one of the side panels of the insulating
cover and the maintenance hatch of the heat exchan-
ger. The side panel to be removed depends on the
position of the maintenance hatch.
Proceed as follows to remove the side panel and the
maintenance hatch:
1. Remove the side panel of the insulating cover:
a. With a twisting motion, slide the
side panel from under the top plate.
b. Remove the six bolts with which the
side panel is secured.
There are eight screws on the
side; do not remove the top two
screws, because they secure
the lid.
