DANGER
● Before carrying out any work on the
hydraulic accumulator, the relevant safety
precautions must be taken.
● Risk of suffocation: Ensure adequate
ventilation when discharging nitrogen
from the hydraulic accumulator in
enclosed spaces.
● Wear noise protection, eye protection and
hand protection.
6.1 Prepare the hydraulic
accumulator
622680843-5
Bladder accumulators
1. Unscrew protective cap S [IV-1] and seal
cap H [IV-1] and remove O-ring O
[IV-1].
2. Use HYDAC charging and testing unit FPU
to fully discharge gas-side pre-charge
pressure – see other relevant documents:
3.501.BA [sec. 1]
3. Unscrew gas valve insert E [IV-1]
completely using a valve extractor tool.
Piston, diaphragm and metal bellows
accumulators
1. Remove protective cap S [IV-2] and O-
ring O [IV-2].
2. Use HYDAC charging and testing unit FPU
to fully discharge gas-side pre-charge
pressure – see other relevant documents:
3.501.BA [sec. 1]
3. Fully loosen and remove allen screw P
[IV-2] with an allen key (AF width 6,
DIN ISO 2936) WZ2 [IV-2].
6.2 Install safety device

GSV
● The GSV must only be tightened on the
hexagon provided 11 [III-1].
● Do not use pliers or similar tools on the
housing 5 [III-1] as there is a risk of
damage.
● It is forbidden to undo the glued hexagon
connection 11 [III-1] from the housing 5
[III-1], since this would inevitably alter
the setting of the device.
● The presence of the lead seal 2 [III-1]
proves that no alterations have been made
on the unit with regard to the setting
pressure. It is forbidden to remove the
INT 3.504.BA8/03.23
lead seal 2 [III-1] and the cap 1 [III-1]
and consequently to unscrew the compo-
nents because in so doing the setting of
the device would be altered and the GSV
would lose its approved status.
Installation
1. Check GSV for damage. Do not put into
operation any damaged GSV.
2. Check GSV for corrosion.
3. Remove the screw plug 13 [III-1].
4. Clean sealing surfaces.
5. Screw the GSV with the seal ring 12
[III-1] directly onto the pipe, or the
connector.
6. GSV must exclusively be fastened onto
the connection at the intended hexagon 11
[III-1] – tightening torque: 80 Nm.
7. The GSV must be installed securely to
withstand vibrations during operation or
any break in the connection lines.
GMP
NOTICE
The GMP is not suitable for protecting
hydraulic accumulators from excessive pres-
sures, and may only be used in combination
with a pressure protection system.
● The GMP may only be installed using a
hook and pin spanner DIN 1810B, inserted
into the boreholes provided 11 [III-2].
● Do not use pliers or similar tools on the
housing 5 [III-2] as there is a risk of
damage.
Installation
1. Check GMP for damage. Do not put into
operation any damaged GMP.
2. Check GMP for corrosion.
3. Remove the screw plug 13 [III-2].
4. Clean sealing surfaces.
5. Screw the GMP with the seal ring 12
[III-2] directly onto the pipe, or the
connector.
6. GMP must exclusively be fastened onto
the connection at the intended holes 11
[III-2] – tightening torque: 20 Nm.
7. The GMP must be installed securely to
withstand vibrations during operation or
any break in the connection lines.
