OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
To make a miter cut using the rip fence
The rip fence is not only used for straight cuts but
is also very useful in making miter cuts at 22.5° and
45° when cutting larger size tiles.
a. Remove the battery pack.
b. Depress the rip fence locking knob (G), then
rotate it counterclockwise to unlock the rip
fence from the sliding table (B). Remove the rip
fence from the sliding table.
c.
Align the rip fence (D) with the indicator line
(22.5° or 45°) on the table and align the two pins
on the rip fence with the two holes on the sliding
table (B) and press the rip fence down.
d. Depress the rip fence locking knob (G), then
rotate it clockwise to secure the rip fence to the
sliding table (B).
e. Make sure the tile is clear of the cutting wheel before turning the saw on.
f.
Turn the saw ON, let the cutting wheel reach its full speed, and get wet before engaging
the tile into the cutting wheel.
g. Hold the tile firmly against the rip fence (D) and push the rip fence into the cutting wheel by
applying a steady even pressure (forcing the tile will cause the cutting wheel to slow which
could overheat the motor).
h. When the cut is made, turn the saw OFF. Wait for the cutting wheel to come to a complete
stop before removing any part of the cut tile.
To make a miter cut using the miter guide
Miter cuts are used for cutting outside and inside
corners on material, decorative chair rail, and
base molding with the material at any angle to the
wheel other than 90°. Miter cuts tend to "creep"
during cutting. This can be controlled by holding the
workpiece securely against the miter guide.
a. Using a marker or grease pencil, mark the area
to be cut on the tile.
b. Install the miter guide (K) and adjust the miter guide
to desired angle, using the miter guide knob (L).
NOTE: Refer to chapter "Miter Guide Installation
and Adjustment" earlier for more detailed
instructions on how to set up and adjust the miter
guide.
c.
Place the tile on the sliding table (B) and firmly against the miter guide.
d. Make sure the tile is clear of the wheel before turning the saw on.
e. Turn the saw ON, let the cutting wheel reach its full speed, and get wet before engaging
the tile into the cutting wheel.
f.
Hold the tile firmly against the miter guide and miter guide along rip fence (D) and push
the miter guide and the rip fence into the cutting wheel by applying a steady even pressure
(forcing the tile will cause the cutting wheel to slow which could overheat the motor).
g. When the cut is made, turn the saw OFF. Wait for the cutting wheel to come to a complete
stop before removing any part of the cut tile.
