IGNITER FAILURE
PROCEDURE
If for any reason your igniter fails, check the following
steps, or start your grill using the manual method.
1. Open lid. Remove the cooking grid and grease
plate. Remove all unburnt pellets and ash from the
burn pot. Avoid touching the electrode to avoid
injury, as it may be extremely hot.
2. Push the control knob once to turn the grill on.
The controller will flash several times and then
turn to a solid screen. This is to let you know your
grill is powered on.
3. Push the control knob again, this will take you
to the function screen where you can access all
functions.
4. Push the control button to lock in the Temperature
function, then rotate the knob to select the
Temperature you desire
5. Push the control button to start the unit.
Check the following:
• Visually check that the electrode is continuously sparking.
• Visually check that the auger is dropping pellets into the burn
pot.
• Check that the combustion fan is working (listen for a torchy
roar.)
• The unit should start up correctly if all these function properly.
• Reinstall the grease plate, warming rack, and cooking grid if the
unit is operating.
6. If any of the above points are not working, follow
the troubleshooting instructions.
WARNING
Make sure to clean out the ash from the burn pot after each use to
ensure the proper function of your pellet grill.
MANUAL START-UP
Use this manual start-up procedure if you have already
attempted a normal start-up and cannot get your pellets
to light.
1. If your unit is already on and you have set the
temperature, but the unit did not light, please
proceed to step 3. If your unit is off, please proceed
to step 2.
2. Plug the A/C adaptor power cord into a grounded
(GFCI) power source or Halo 12 V rechargeable
Lithium-ion battery. Refer to the "Pellet Grill Start
Up" section to turn your unit on and select a
temperature setting.
3. Remove the cooking grid and grease plate to
visually check the burn pot and make sure there is
no obstruction for a proper spark.
4. Open the hopper lid. Make sure there are no
foreign objects in the hopper or auger feed system.
Fill hopper with dry, all natural hardwood barbecue
pellets if not already full.
5. If there aren't any pellets in the burn pot, push the
PRIME button to feed the pellets into the burn pot
enough to cover the electrode. If there are pellets in
the burn pot already, proceed to Step 6.
WARNING
Do not add too many pellets to the burn pot as it will cause a higher
temperature than desired.
DANGER
Do not use spirit, petrol, gasoline, lighter-fluid or kerosene for
lighting a fire in your pellet grill.
