• Make sure the tool's mounting flange is compatible with the superabrasive wheel. Refer to
the manufacturer's mounting instructions
• ALWAYS conduct a test run after mounting, with no load for at least 30 seconds, to
determine if the wheel runs balanced and does not produce excessive vibration. If it does,
switch off IMMEDIATELY, remove the disc, inspect, re-mount and re-test if no damage is detected
• If planning on using the superabrasive wheel with a coolant, liquid dust suppressant or
lubricant, first check if the wheel, tool and workpiece are compatible with wet cutting
and with the compound to be used. Always apply liquid to an already running wheel, never to
a non-moving tool, as the unbalance could lead to the rupture of the wheel. When switching off,
remove the liquid supply first and let the tool run at no-load, until centrifugal forces have drained
all liquid from the wheel. Dry off the wheel after use, and prevent liquid from being absorbed into
the wheel
Avoiding angle grinder burnout
Note: grinders are designed to work under load. Provided the motor is cooled quickly, minimal wear
or damage will occur.
• DO NOT over work the angle grinder.
• If the grinder emits a burning smell, DO NOT stop the grinder; instead, remove from load and
allow to spin freely for approximately 5-10 seconds at high speed to cool the motor before
continuing work.
• Repeat the removal of the grinder from load intermittently to keep the tool cool during use.
If a grinder is slowing down on sticky material whilst under load:
1. Check the correct grinding wheel type is being used.
2. Make shallower passes across the material.

Unpacking Your Tool
• Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Fully familiarise yourself with all its features and
functions
• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any parts are missing or
damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting to use this tool
Before Use
WARNING: Always unplug the grinder from the mains supply before attempting to fit or replace
any attachment. Never fit any attachment with a maximum speed lower than the rated speed of
the tool.
• All discs and accessories must be subjected to a visual inspection prior to installation, to ensure
they are in good condition and within their expiry date. If in doubt, DO NOT USE AND DISCARD
• Always check all parts and attachments are secure, and that rotating parts will not foul on guards
or tool case
• Always hold the tool, using both hands, by the handles provided
• Be aware that the cast metal gear housing may become hot during use
• Hot air will be emitted from the ventilation holes
• Ensure that the ventilation holes are not obscured in any way
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment for the task. Use of this tool requires ear
defenders, eye protection, gloves, breathing protection, and if appropriate a hard hat
Fitting the Auxiliary Handle
WARNING: To ensure operator safety, ALWAYS use the tool with the Auxiliary Handle (7)
installed.
1. Screw the Auxiliary Handle by hand into the left or right hand Threaded Hole. (Fig. I)
Adjusting, removing & installing the Wheel Guards
WARNING: The correct guard MUST be installed for each application before use. This is a legal
requirement.
WARNING: NEVER install a cutting disc or super abrasive cutting wheel without the correct
cutting wheel guard (not supplied) in place.
IMPORTANT: Ensure the Guard is positioned to provide a barrier between the disc and the operator.
Adjusting the Guard
1. Open the Guard Clamp (12)
2. The Guard can be moved through a range of approximately 90°, so that it can be placed between
the Disc (10) and the operator at any required work angle
3. Close the Guard Clamp
Note: If the Guard Clamp is too loose or too tight, open completely and adjust the clamp nut
Removing Guard
Note: Skip Step 1-2 if no disc is installed.
1. Depress the Spindle Lock button (13),
2. Remove the Disc (10) (see 'Fitting a grinding, cutting or flap disc section')
3. Loosen the Guard Clamp (12), rotate the Guard until the protrusions on the band of the guard are
aligned with the notches on the gear housing, and remove the guard
Installing Guard
1. Loosen the Guard Clamp (12)
2. Align the protrusions on the Guard band with the notches on the gear housing
3. Push the Guard onto the gear housing and adjust position
4. Tighten the Guard Clamp (12)
Fitting a grinding, cutting or flap disc
Note: Ensure you have the correct guard installed for the disc you plan to install.
1. Place the Disc (10) onto the Inner Flange (15)
Note: If using depressed centre discs, ensure that the depression is positioned towards the Inner
Flange.
2. Screw the Outer Flange (16) onto the Spindle (17). The raised centre of the threaded Flange
should face towards the Disc when installing a grinding disc, and away when installing a cutting
disc
3. Depress the Spindle Lock button (13) and rotate the Spindle (17) until you feel the lock engage
4. You can now use the supplied Pin Spanner (14) to fully tighten the Outer Flange. When tight,
release the Spindle Lock button. The angle grinder is now ready for use
5. To remove a Disc, depress the Spindle Lock button (13), rotate the Spindle (17) until you feel the
lock engage, and use the Pin Spanner to remove the Outer Flange
