Installing and changing the saw blade
Check that the mounted saw blade is not damaged or cracked, and that the cutting teeth are not broken. If any damage is found,
replace the saw blade with a new one.
An appropriate saw blade should be selected for the planned work. The saw blade for wood and wood-based materials has wider
teeth and the saw blade for metal and plastics has fi ner teeth. The saw blade should be mounted with the teeth facing forward.
The saw blade should be placed in the spindle slot in such a manner that it leans against the cut-out in the roll with its back.
Caution! Wear protective gloves while fi tting the saw blade. This will reduce the risk of injury.
Pull and hold the saw blade holder lever in this position. Slide the blade holder into the slot of the holder (II) and release the lever.
A correctly installed saw blade cannot be removed from the holder except by lifting and holding the lever.
Saw blade oscillation adjustment (III)
The jigsaw has a multi-stage blade oscillation adjustment. Adjustment is possible by means of a lever. The lower the numerical
setting, the lower the blade oscillation. When set to "0", the saw blade oscillation is switched off .
Saw blade oscillation makes cutting easier and the degree of oscillation should be chosen experimentally, e.g. by cutting through
waste material. However, please follow the guidelines below:
- in order to obtain the smoothest possible edge of the cut, the oscillation must be set at the lowest possible degree or even switched off ,
- when cutting thin materials (e.g. sheet metal), the oscillation must be switched off ,
- when cutting through hard materials (e.g. steel), set a low oscillation level,
- when cutting soft materials, set the maximum degree of oscillation.
Saw blade speed adjustment (IV)
The jigsaw has a potentiometer which allows you to set the saw blade speed. By rotating the potentiometer ring, you can select the
saw blade speed which is appropriate for the given type of work. The lower the numerical setting, the lower the saw blade speed.
The speed should be chosen experimentally, for example by cutting through waste material. A lower speed should be used when
cutting plastics or aluminium. You should also reduce the speed if the saw blade gets jammed during cutting.
Setting the cutting angle
The jigsaw's cutting angle can be adjusted between 0 and 45 degrees and the inclination can be adjusted both to the left and to
the right. Remove the dust extraction connection before adjusting the cutting angle by taking it out of the base casing (V), and the
plastic blade guard by carefully pulling away one of the side walls of the guard so that the hooks come off the saw blade guard
made of a metal rod (VI).
Slide the cutting angle locking lever to the left looking at the front of the jigsaw and then tilt the jigsaw to the desired angle. The
indicator on the back of the base allows you to read the angle of inclination of the jigsaw. Then push the lever as far as it will go
to the right, looking at the front of the jigsaw (VII).
If the jigsaw is set to 0
– perpendicular cutting, move the jigsaw backwards in relation to the base before changing the cutting
O
angle. The special tab allows for easy and precise setting of the 0
cutting angle as the one used most frequently.
O
The position of a correctly locked base cannot be changed except by unlocking it with a lever.
Mounting the guide (VIII)
When cutting in a straight line, use a guide to move the jigsaw along the edge of the workpiece. When cutting in a straight line,
avoid using only your hands to guide the jigsaw and use a guide or other tools wherever possible to make it easier to guide the tool.
Before mounting the guide, remove the plastic guard to gain access to the knobs which secure the guide to the base. Once the
guide has been mounted, the plastic guard must be installed.
Slide the guide into the base notches and secure its position with a screw. Always slide the guide into both base notches, as only
then will the guide base be parallel to the jigsaw base.
Dust extraction
The tool is equipped with a dust extraction system. The use of a dust extraction system improves effi ciency and safety at work. A
fl exible hose connected to the dust extraction system, e.g. an industrial vacuum cleaner, must be fi xed to the dust extraction outlet.
Do not use household vacuum cleaners as dust extraction systems. Household vacuum cleaners are not suitable for extracting
dust generated during operation with a tool and such use can lead to damage to the vacuum cleaner.
Slide the adapter supplied with the jigsaw into the opening in the tool base (IX). If an additional adapter is required to connect the
dust extraction system, it must be purchased separately.
The connection must be made in such a manner that the fl exible hose does not interfere with manoeuvring the tool during operation.
Move the dust extraction lever upwards before starting the dust extraction system (X).
OPERATING OF THE TOOL
Before every operation, you should check, that the blade cover is mounted correctly and that it is lowered. Wear eye protection,
