Installing electrical connections
Fitting the docking station:
CAUTION
!
If the mounting area is uneven, use spacers (e.g. mounting
support in accordance with order list) to prevent distortion of
the housing.
1. Screw on the docking station (hole spacing: 66 ±4 mm).
2. If the Polytron 3000/7000 measurement module is not yet fitted,
re-fit the rain cover (dust and rain protector).

Installing electrical connections
Connection to central controller with at least 2-wire shielded cable, 0.5

to 2.5 mm
(e.g. LiYCY).
For currents between 0 and 22 mA, there must be
a DC voltage between 30 VDC and 12 VDC on the Polytron 3000,
a DC voltage between 30 VDC and 16.5 VDC on the
Polytron 7000,
CAUTION
!
If the Polytron 7000 is retrofitted with the relay module and/or
the pump module, the entire unit will lose Ex-approval. The
operator must ensure that no approval is indicated on the
Polytron 7000. Any approval marking must be removed.
The use of the Polytron 7000 with the pump module and/or
relay module installed is not permitted in explosion-hazard
areas! Explosion hazard!

4-20 mA current loop installation
3.1.1
Installing the 4-20 mA current loop (2-wire technology)
1. Install the 2-wire connection cable in the cable gland, cut to length
and strip ends (approx. 80 mm).
2. Shorten any shielding present so short-circuits cannot occur.
3. To connect the cable:
2-pin terminal for Polytron 3000 – observe polarity (Fig. B,
item 2).
4-pin terminal for Polytron 7000 – observe polarity (Fig. C,
item 1).
Shorten excess wires or fix in 4-pin terminal (Fig. B, item 1).
4. Push the connection terminal back into the holder.
5. Fix cable in mount.
6. Replace the rain cover (dust and rain protector).

Installing the 4-20 mA current loop (3-wire technology,
Polytron 7000 only)
1. Install the 3-wire connection cable in the cable gland, cut to length
and strip ends (approx. 80 mm).
2. Shorten any shielding present so short-circuits cannot occur.
3. To connect the cable: Fix in the terminals on the 4-pin connection
terminal – observe polarity (Fig. E, item 1).
4. Push the connection terminal back into the holder.
5. Fix cable in mount.
6. Replace the rain cover (dust and rain protector).

Installation onto the central controller
Connect shielding to ground of central controller (e.g. housing,
earthing bar, etc.).
