Operating the grill
Make sure the control valve is off by
turning the valve handle fully
clockwise until tight see Fig. 12
Turn on the gas supply by opening the
gas cylinder valve
To light the grill, open the control valve
to the maximum rate by turning the
valve handle fully counter clockwise,
at the same time rapidly pushing in
and releasing the Ignitor button. While
viewing the burner through the Flame
Viewing Hole to make sure all burner ports light and stay lit. See notes
below
If the burner does not light, close the control valve. Open the
and remove the Grill Plate to allow the gas to dissipate or wait five
minutes, then repeat step 2. and try to light again. See notes below
Once the burner has lit the grill should be preheated as follows :
* Warm up period
After ignition of the grill please preheat the appliance for 8 minutes to
prevent the phenomenon of flaring which can occur during the warm up
period. During this time the lid shall cover the grill plate. Never move the
appliance when it operates to prevent flaring.
During operation, the temperature of the grill can be controlled by
adjusting the control valve.
The maximum temperature is obtained with the control valve handle
turned fully counter clockwise (high rate). The temperature of the grill
can be reduced by gradually turning the control valve clockwise from
this position, at the same time viewing the size of the burner flames
through the flame-viewing hole. On adjustment the burner flames will

reduce in size, lowering the temperature of the grill plate. Following
adjustment all the burner ports must be lit.
THE CONTROL VALVE MUST NOT BE ADJUSTED TO A POINT
WHERE ONLY SOME OF THE BURNER PORTS ARE LIT.
If this happens the control valve must be turned back to the high rate to
lit all the burner ports
When cooking is finished, close the valve on the gas cylinder or cylinder
regulator and then turn the control valve fully clockwise until tight.
Notes:
1. Upon first use the gas supply hose may be full of air. In order for the burners
to light properly the hose must fill with gas. It may require several attempts to
light the burner before you are successful.
2. If the burner still doesn't light it may be that the igniter is faulty. In this case
the burner may be lit using a match attached to the match holder positioned
through the flame-viewing hole
Lid
Change the gas cylinder outside and away from people in a well ventilated
position and away from any sources of ignition.
Check that the gas cylinder valve or cylinder regulator lever is in the
closed position.
Disconnect the regulator from the gas cylinder.
Make sure the control valve is closed by turning the control valve handle
fully clockwise until tight
Install the new gas cylinder.
Connect the regulator to the new gas cylinder.
Check the gas hose and connections for leaks. If there is a leak on your
applaince, the leak must be detected and stopped. Check for leaks
using as soapy water solution Do not try to detect leaks using a flame.
