7. Cleaning and maintenance
Hazard!
Always pull out the battery pack before starting
any cleaning work. Never use fl ammable solvents
to clean the equipment.
7.1 Cleaning (outside)
Keep all safety devices, air vents and the
motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as
possible. Wipe the equipment with a clean
cloth or blow it down with compressed air at
low pressure.
We recommend cleaning the equipment
immediately each time after use.
Clean the equipment regularly with a damp
cloth and some soft soap. Do not use
cleaning agents or solvents; these may
be aggressive to the plastic parts in the
equipment. Ensure that no water can get into
the interior of the equipment. The ingress of
water into an electric power tool increases the
risk of an electric shock.
7.2 Cleaning the inside of the tank.
After use, clean the equipment and leave the tank
open to dry. Note the cleaning instructions in the
directions for use that came with the chemical in
addition to these cleaning instructions.
Remove any remaining liquid from the tank
through the container's fi ller opening and store
the liquid properly for subsequent use or dispose
of it in accordance with the applicable regulations.
1. Flip the metal clips (Fig. 1/Item 15) up and
remove the motor part from the tank (Fig. 16).
2. Empty the tank completely.
3. Pour about 0.5 Gal. (2 L) of clear water into
the empty tank.
4. Fit the motor part back onto the tank and
secure the tank by hooking the metal clips on
the motor part by fl ipping them down.
5. Shake the chemical sprayer vigorously
several times.
6. Spray the contents onto the area just treated
or an area reserved for this purpose.
7. Repeat this process.
8. The tank can now be drained through the fi ller
opening as described above.
9. Allow the tank to dry out completely before
attaching it to the motor part again.

7.3 Cleaning the nozzle and adjustable spray
head
If foreign bodies have collected in the nozzle and
clogged it up, clean the nozzle as follows:
1. Turn the adjustable spray head
counterclockwise as far as it will go (Fig. 17).
2. Clean the exposed nozzle (Fig. 18.1) and the
hole in the spray head (Fig. 18.2) of residue
using a thin wire.
3. Flush the nozzle and spray head with clear
water.
4. Allow the nozzle and spray head to dry.
7.4 Cleaning the fi lter element in the handle
(Fig. 19)
Clean the fi lter element in the handle at least
once a year, ideally after the winter break or when
there are problems (see section 10). Proceed as
follows:
1. Unscrew the union nut (Item 7a) from the
handle (Item 7).
2. Pull the fi lter (Item 7b) out of the handle (Item
7) and clean it with a brush in clear water.
3. Re-insert the fi lter (Item 7b).
4. Screw the union nut (Item 7a) securely back
onto the handle (Item 7).
7.5 Maintenance
There are no parts inside the equipment which
require additional maintenance.
8. Disposal and recycling
The equipment is supplied in packaging to
prevent it from being damaged in transit. The
raw materials in this packaging can be reused or
recycled. The equipment and its accessories are
made of various types of material, such as metal
and plastic. Never place defective equipment in
your household refuse. The equipment should
be taken to a suitable collection center for proper
disposal. If you do not know the whereabouts of
such a collection point, you should ask in your
local council offi ces.
