Decorative door sill covers
The accessories are intended for professional fitting. ŠKODA AUTO recommends that they are fitted in an
authorised workshop.

Note
The templates for correctly positioning the side door sill covers (fig. 2) on the vehicle sills are not included
in the set and must be ordered separately from the ŠKODA Genuine Accessories range using order no. 5E3
071 718.
Please note: Use the openings in the templates to mark where the side door
sill covers are to be positioned on the vehicle sills. These are indicated by black
arrows on a green background. Make sure that you position the correct template
carefully on the vehicle sill and draw the line along the outer edge of the opening.
Important fitting information
In order to ensure that the side door sill covers are properly adhered to the vehicle, the ambient temperature,
the vehicle temperature and the temperature of the components to be fitted must be between 18 and 30
°C. Protect the components from direct sunlight.
How to adhere the side door sill covers
- Fig. 3 -
- Thoroughly wash the vehicle sills with mild soapy water and rinse them with clean water. Then degrease
them with a suitable cleaning agent. Leave to dry for approximately
10 minutes.

- Use the templates to correctly position the side door sill covers on the vehicle sills. Always position the
correct template (left/right) on the vehicle sill, as shown in the figure.
- The templates for the side door sill covers perfectly follow the contours of the vehicle sill and the A-pillar.
- Use a suitable felt-tip pen (0,5 mm) to make marks where the door sill covers are to be positioned on the
vehicle sills. Make sure that you draw the line along the outer edge of each of the openings – the open-
ings are indicated by black arrows on a green background.

- Remove the template.
- Place the door sill cover onto the vehicle sill, lining it up with the marks you have made. Check that the door
sill cover is positioned correctly in relation to the other components on the vehicle (door seal, recess in the
sill, etc.).
- Hold the door sill cover in place and draw a mark along its back end to show where it should be positioned.

- Peel off the protective sheet strips from the pieces of adhesive tape adhered to the underside of the door
sill cover.
