Insert the safety cartridge into the threaded connection

with all possible orientations.

Turn the safety cartridge clockwise until you can feel

resistance.
The safety cartridge is now firmly seated in the hand-
piece.

6.1 Switching the control unit to operating
mode or standby mode
To switch the controller to operating mode:
Ensure that the power supply is established (see
E
chapter "5.2 Connecting the power supply" on page 39).
Press the Standby/On button (

The standby button illuminates.
The start screen appears on the display.
If a handpiece is connected, the default puncture fre-
quency (120) appears.
If an error message appears:

6.2 Configuring the controller (menu)
To enter the menu:

Check that the safety cartridge is securely attached by
pulling gently on it.
To remove the safety cartridge, turn it anticlockwise and
remove it from the handpiece.
Carry out a visual check of the equipment:
- Are there any signs of external damage (e.g. kinks in
the handpiece cable, detached cap in the area of the
cable connection)?
- Are any cables disconnected?
- Are the safety cartridge and needles aligned cor-
rectly? Are all needles fully withdrawn into the safety
cartridge ?
- Has the date for the next inspection (biennial ser-
vice) on the test plate of the controller passed?
- Does the controller display an error message?
Switch the handpiece on and carry out an acoustic
check: Are operating noises or sounds prominent?
In the event of anomalies, refer to chapters "10 Ques-
tions and problems" on page 47 and "11.1 Guarantee"
on page 48.
If the device can no longer be operated harmlessly, take
it out of service and contact an authorised dealer.
Press the Standby/On button (
The display goes out and the standby LED illuminates blue.
Simultaneously press both the left (
buttons on the controller.
The "KEY TONES" menu item appears on the display.
