2.2
Water connection
Connect the water to the water supply via the plug-in nipple.
Attention: max. water pressure 3 bar.
Please use a GARDENA coupling as the connecting piece to the machine. This can be obtained from
a garden center or builders' merchant.
A water coupling of brass of high value can be received directly from WEKA.
Use only clean water, as dirty water will considerably disturb the heat exchange on the cooling surface
and thereby the motor can be totally damaged. Else the seals wear out very quickly.
When water issues from the leakage hole on the water supply bush or at the back end of the
motor, the seals are to be changed at once. This is only to be done in an authorized repair center.
Attention: Under full power conditions at least 1l water per minute is required.
Open the water coupling after the operation, so that the cooling split can empty. This is
especially in cold seasons very important because of danger of frost.
2.3
Fitting up in the core drill rig
The SR35 is fastened at the gear foot (see illustration) with 4 M8 screws (SR75: 8 screws M8) with the
core drill rig (2) or through an adapter disc which is delivered by manufacturer of the drill rig.
Choose these screws with a length of thread engagement of at least 15 mm and tighten them
with a torque of 20 Nm.
Place the machine only in a stable core drill rig which has precise guides which are free from clearance.
Ensure that the machine axis is absolutely parallel to the rig column.
Only use rigs with sufficient stability.
Since the rig is not included in the delivery, only a few important features are noted here.
Please pay attention to the operating instructions for the rig.
Fixing methods
Dowel fixing, bracing.
The most common method of fixing is dowel fixing. Use only metal dowels.
It is also possible to fasten the drill stand with a suitable quick shift column against a rigid wall.
Appropriate columns are offered by the diamond tool market.
With the SR35/75 you can also drill overhead without any further precautions. For protecting the operator
against water, you should however on principal use a water collecting ring (accessory for drill rig).
Consider that the drilled core slips into the core bit and thus loads machine and drill rig additionally.
Bigger cores have to be secured accordingly.
2.4
Diamond drill bit
The SR35/SR75´s tool fixture consists of a shaft with a female thread of 1 ¼" UNC. Only use suitable
high-quality diamond tools.
Only use appropriate diamond tools and ensure that the diamond segments are sufficiently larger than
the inner and outer diameter of the drill bit tube.
Apply water-resistant grease to the tool thread so that the tool can be easily loosened.
Fasten the drill bit tightly to the thread.
Ensure that the radial run out on the diamond segments of the drill bit is no greater than 1mm
(eccentricity).
Only use suitable wrenches for changing the core bit. Thereby hold the drilling spindle with another
wrench.
Never use a hammer or something similar to open the core bit. If necessary elongate the
wrench.
