Grill assembly
∙ Before assembly, check that all parts are
complete under the section Overview
and parts included.
∙ Fit the grill plate onto the main unit and
ensure the handles on the main unit
click into place. Check that the grill plate
is securely fitted.
∙ Insert the fat collection tray into the main
unit from behind.
∙ Slide the two-piece draft shield into the
groove on the grill plate.
Heating-up for the first time
∙ Let the grill heat up, as described in the
section Grilling, without any food for
about 10 minutes at maximum power.
This will remove the smell typically
encountered when first switching on
a grill. A little smoke may be emitted;
this is quite normal, but ensure there
is adequate ventilation by opening
windows or balcony doors.
∙ Clean the grill plate again as described
in the Cleaning and care section.
Grilling
∙ Place the grill on a level, heat-resistant
surface, impervious to splashes and
stains. When grilling food with a high fat
or moisture content, splashes are not
always avoidable.
∙ Check that the grill has been correctly
assembled.
∙ Apply a light coat of high-heat-resistant
oil to the grill plate if necessary.
∙ Insert the plug into a suitable earthed
power outlet.
∙ Set the controller of the control element
14
to position MAX.
∙ The indicator light shows red, and the
grill plate heats up. Once the required
temperature has been reached, the
indicator light turns blue.
∙ Let the appliance heat up for about 10
minutes.
∙ Place the food on the smooth or ribbed
side of the grill plate as desired. The
smooth side is especially suitable for
vegetables and fish, and the ribbed one
for meat.
∙ Avoid cutting on the grill plate and using
metal kitchen utensils when placing and
removing the food in order not to scratch
the grill plate.
∙ The temperature can be adjusted
as necessary, up or down, with the
controller.
∙ The fat in the collection tray should
be checked regularly and emptied as
necessary.
Once the grilling process is finished:
∙ Set the controller back to position MIN.
∙ Remove the plug from the power outlet.
∙ Allow the grill to cool down.
Cleaning and care
∙ Ensure that the grill is thoroughly
cleaned after use.
∙ Before cleaning, disconnect the
barbecue grill from the mains and let it
cool down.
∙ Do not use metallic pads, steel wool or
abrasive cleaning agents for cleaning.
∙ Pull the two-piece draft shield upwards.
∙ Remove the grill plate by pressing the
release buttons on the handles and
lifting it upwards.
