IP-65 protection is only ensured with a correctly fitted D-SUB mating
plug.
Also note the pin assignment scheme (R412019225).
6.3.2 Connection with bus coupler
See fig. 9
When connecting with a bus coupler, please also refer to the assembly
instructions R412018134 and system descriptions (on CD
R412018133).
Make the following connections on the bus coupler:
u
• Fieldbus input X7xx (xx = fieldbus-dependent) (1), integrated M12 socket/
plug
• Fieldbus output X7xx (xx = fieldbus-dependent) (2) integrated M12 socket/
plug
• Ground connection
1. Also configure the required inputs and outputs (7) on the connected I/O mod-
ules (6).
2. Connect all FE connections of the modules with the FE of your system.
Select the cable cross section so that it is sufficient for your application.
Wrench size WS 7; tightening torque MA = 1.25 Nm +0.25.
3. Connect the power supply for your bus coupler via the integrated M12 plug
(X1S; 3; male, 4-pin, A-coded) to a suitable power source (24 V DC).
6.3.3 Connection with IO-Link
Connect your valve system with IO-Link on a master via the M12 integrated
u
plug (X7I1).

6.3.4 AV-EP connection for multipole connection
When connection with an IO-Link, also observe the system description
R412018145 (on CD R412018133).
AV-EP pressure regulators for multipole connection are actuated via an M12 con-
nection and work independently from the multipole valve system as a standalone
device. The signals from the multipole valve system are forwarded or passed
through to the next component.

1. Only use tested plugs and cables.
2. Always use a shielded line to connect the integrated M12 plug.
3. Always connect the line shield (FE/pin 5) to both the housing of the integrated
M12 plug and the system FE.
4. Make sure that the 24 V DC power supply for the valves is present in the de-
vice.
5. Connect the signal line on the M12 plug of the AV-EP pressure regulator for
multipole connection.

Assignment
1. Connect all FE connections of the modules with the FE of your system. Select
the cable cross section so that it is sufficient for your application. Wrench size
WS 7; tightening torque MA = 1.25 Nm +0.25.
2. Connect the cable to the connection on the electrical supply plate. (fig. 10, K,
L) and ensure it has been inserted correctly (fig. 10,8).
6.3.6 Connect an additional electrical valve control module
Connect the cable to the connection on the electrical valve control module
u
(fig. 10, M) and ensure that it has been inserted correctly (fig. 10, 8).

7 Commissioning and Operation
Commissioning may only be carried out by qualified electrical or pneu-
matic personnel or an instructed person under the direction and su-
pervision of qualified personnel (also see separate sheet "Notes on
Safety" (R412015575), section "Personnel qualifications").
7.1 Step-by-step commissioning
Before commissioning the entire system, check each of the individual functions
step-by-step.
1. Check all fittings and connections.
2. Check the valves for correct assignment of the control signals.
3. Check the pneumatic functions using the manual override.
4. Check the LEDs and only then commission the entire system.
7.1.1 Step 1: Check fittings and connections
Check all fittings and connections for a secure fit and seal before commission-
u
ing the system.
7.1.2 Step 2: Check assignment of the control signals
1. Make sure that the system is not under voltage or pressure.
2. Switch on the operating voltage.
3. Check the assignment of the control signals to the valve positions.
The yellow LED is illuminated if the valve is being properly controlled.
4. If the LED is not illuminated, check the assignment of the control signal and
valve position.
7.1.3 Step 3: Check the pneumatic functions
1. Make sure that the system is not under voltage or pressure.
2. Turn all manual overrides to the Push position
(see (see "Operating the manual override")).
3. Make sure that all actuators are in their home positions and that there is no
danger from moving actuators.
CAUTION:
Before applying compressed air to the system, check the stability of the com-
pressed air connections and make sure that no personnel are within the haz-
ardous zone when the compressed air supply is switched on!
Before switching the system on, ensure that it is in a defined state!
4. Apply the compressed air to the system.
5. Check all of the connected valves using the manual override (see (see "Oper-
ating the manual override")).
