Disconnect the quick couplers by pushing the lock ring on the female coupler backwards and the
male coupler will be released.
•
Clean the couplers and the dust caps.
•
Replace the dust caps on the female and male couplers.
5.4
Operate the dead man's buttons
The pump of this set has an electrically operated valve. The valve is operated with two push buttons on
the tool (Fig. 2/4). The blades move if one or more buttons are pushed.
5.4.1
Cutter with one-handed control
•
In the rest position (buttons are not being pushed in), the oil is being pumped around without
pressure. The blades do not move.
•
The blades are opened (spreading) by pushing the button
above the piston. The oil under the piston flows back to the tank.
•
The blades are closed (cutting) by pushing the button
piston. The oil above the piston flows back to the tank.
•
Pushing both buttons and the tool will spread.
5.4.2
Cutter with two-handed control
Refer to Fig. 7 (left) for left-handed operation and Fig 7 (right) for right-handed operation.
•
Keep pushing the button (1) to be able to operate the tool.
•
Push the
button (2) to cut.
•
Push the
button (3) to spread.
Safe operation
•
Push both button (2) and button (3) and the tool will spread.
•
Push both buttons (1) and the tool will do nothing.
•
Push both button (1) and button (2 or 3) to operate the tool.
5.5
Relief the pressure in unconnected hoses or tools
5.5.1
General
Temperature differences can cause overpressure in unconnected hoses and tools. This overpressure
can make it impossible to connect the parts. You can use the pressure relief tool to remove this
overpressure. This accessory is available for all Holmatro hose systems and is supplied by default with
every pump.
NOTICE
We recommend you keep more than one of these tools on hand.
5.5.2
Quick-Lock system
Refer to Fig. 6.
•
Turn the knob of the pressure relief tool counterclockwise to make room for the coupler.
•
Press the pressure relief tool on to the coupler of the hose or tool.
•
Wrap a cloth around the pressure relief tool, leave the knob free to operate.

Make sure the cloth covers the oil openings, because a cloud of oil may appear without a
cloth.
