• Turn the knob clockwise to release the pressure. Some oil will be released.
• Turn the knob counterclockwise and remove the pressure relief tool from the coupler.
6 Use
6.1 General
Check the equipment for completeness and damage. Do not use the equipment if it is damaged; in that
case contact the Holmatro dealer.
WARNING
Make sure you are up to date on all safety regulations and that you have mastered the use of
all equipment of the system you are going to work with.
6.2 Before use
• Inspect the blades. Do not use them if there is any damage.
• Lock the cable of the balancer.
• Place the hook of the balancer in one of the holes of the carrying handle so that the tool hangs in
the right position.
• Connect the hydraulic hoses. Refer to chapter 5.2.
• Connect the electric cable.
• Unlock the cable of the balancer and check if the tool is properly balanced.
• Start the hydraulic pump.
6.3 During use
WARNING
Danger of cutting or pinching parts of the body. These tools have enormous power.
6.3.1 Cutting
Refer to Fig. 9.

• Place the blades at a right angle to the cable that you want to cut.
• Make sure the blade slides into the groove of the blade guide before you cut the solid core.
• Check to make sure no material ends up in the blade guide, causing the blade to get jammed tight
in the guide.

• Place the tool with opened cutters perpendicular to the object to be cut and close the cutters.
The blades may be pushed apart if the cutter blades are not perpendicular to the material to be cut,
resulting in damage to the tool blades.
• Close the cutters.
• Stop immediately when the blades are pushed apart.
WARNING
Stop immediately if the blades separate. This could lead to serious damage to the tool
and/or serious injury.
• Open the blades and start again.
