Troubleshooting

If you've experienced any of the following difficulties while using your
phone, use this troubleshooting to help you remedy the problem.
Should any problem persist, consult your nearest Sony dealer.
Symptom
You hear an error beep when
you press (LINE 1) or (LINE 2).
You hear no dial tone.
The telephone always connects
with the wrong number or
doesn't connect at all, even
though the number you dial is
correct.
The phone doesn't redial
correctly.
You hear a beep during the
conversation.
A beep sounds every 20
seconds.
The handset does not ring.
A beep sounds every 20
seconds.
You hear interference during
conversation.
You hear a beep.
Remedy
• Make sure you set up the base phone correctly (page
8).
• Move the handset closer to the base phone.
• Replace the handset to the base phone for a while to
recharge the battery pack.
• Reset the digital security code (page 30).
• Make sure the telephone line cord is securely
connected to the telephone outlet.
• Make sure the battery is fully charged (page 12).
• Make sure the dial mode is set correctly (page 11).
• Make sure the number you last dialed (including the
tone and pause digits, if used) is fewer than 16 digits.
• Make sure the last dialed number is really the one you
want to dial.
• The battery pack is weak. Charge the battery for more
than 8 hours (page 12).
• The line is put on hold (page 14).
• The battery may have little or no power. Charge the
battery for more than 8 hours (page 12).
• Make sure you set up the base phone correctly
(page 8).
• Move the handset closer to the base phone.
• Reset the digital security code (page 30).
• Make sure that you set the ringer type correctly (page
21).
• The line is put on hold (page 16).
• Move the handset closer to the base phone.
• Press(CHANNEL) on the handset for a channel that
gives better reception (page 14).
• Place the base phone away from noise sources (page
8).
• Raise the antenna of the base phone vertically.
• It is a battery low alarm. Charge the battery for more
than 8 hours (page 12).
