Translation of the Original Operation Manual
Übersetzung der Originalbetriebsanleitung
OPERATING FUNCTIONS (fig. 12):
6 = „Advance Ram" Key
(compacting cycle) (fig. 12)
If this key is pressed, the baling ram (32)
is advanced (compacting cycle) and is then
automatically retuned to its rear, home
position.
Note: If the ram does not return to its home
position, but rather continues to press
against the bale, the bale must be tied off
and then ejected (see "TYING OFF AND
EJECTING THE BALE").
USE OF THE SHREDDER:
Switch on as follows:
1. Turn the main switch (1) to position "1".
2. Turn the rotary switch "Cutting system
forward" (2) to position "1". The cutting system
is started together with the conveyor belt.
Attention: the machine only operates if
a) the main switch (1) is switched on (position
"1"),
b) the rotary switch (2) is switched on (position
"1" or "R"),
c) the connection plug of the baler is inserted in
the socket (19) on the shredder,
d) the actuator of the limit switch lock (20) (fig.
8) is inserted in the limit switch on the baler,
e) the hopper opening is closed with the cover
flap (17) and
f) the filler flap (24) as well as the ejector flap
(25) on the baler are closed.
MATERIAL FEED:
The operator may not stand higher
than the machine itself stands, when
feeding paper to the machine!
Standing on an raised platform (such as
pallets or boxes placed in front of the
machine) reduces the distance between
operator and cutting system to a level
which does not meet the required safety
standard.
Feed material for the shredder can consist of
stacks of smooth paper (up to about 190 sheets,
depending on the type and size of paper); and
also crumpled paper and cardboard. Place any
material to be shredded on the moving conveyor
belt which feeds it to the cutting system.
BALER OPERATING ELEMENTS
7 = „Stop Ram"or
"Open Discharge Flap" Key (fig. 12)
a) Stop Ram
If this key is activated briefly (less than
2 seconds), the baling ram (32) (fig. 22)
is stopped.
b) Open Discharge Flap
If the key is pressed and held (for at least
2 seconds), the baling ram travels a short
distance in reverse and the locking lever
(27) (fig. 7) is advanced a short distance
(pressure relief at the discharge flap).
The discharge flap (25) can now be
opened. This is necessary when the
baler is holding the bale in the com-
pacted condition.
Note: The discharge flap can only be
opened after this key has been acti-
vated.
SHREDDER OPERATION
It is advisable to place stacked paper diagonally
on the belt. In this way, the corner of the stack will
be fed to the cutting system first, thus avoiding a
sudden overload.
Never feed the shredder with a quan-
tity of paper exceeding the maximum
indicated in the technical data!
Should the machine become overloaded,
follow the instructions under „AUTO-
MATIC RESPONSE IN CASE OF OvER-
LOADING".

8 = „Return Ram" Key
(return stroke) (fig. 12)
When this key is activated in the automatic
operating mode, the baling ram (32) (fig. 22)
is returned to its rear, home position.
AUTOMATIC RESPONSE
IN CASE OF „OVERLOADING":
In case you accidentally overload the shredder,
it will automatically alleviate the problem as
follows:
1. The cutting system becomes jammed. The pilot
lamp (4) (fig. 11) lights up.
2. The cutting system runs briefly in reverse,
thereby freeing the material to be shredded.
3. The cutting system automatically switches back
to forward mode.
This sequence is automatically repeated by the
machine up to three times. If the machine still
detects "overloading", the cutting system runs in
reverse once more for a specified period of time
and is then shut down.
Redistribute returned material and continue
4
shredding with a smaller amount of material. The
machine must first be switched off with the rotary
switch (2) (fig. 11) (position "0"), and then back on
again (position "1") to this end.
JAM OUTLET:
If the space in the hopper (16) (fig. 7) is completely
filled with cutting material due to a jam in the filler
hole of the baler, the machine switches off when
the cover flap (17) is raised (fig. 7). The display
(4) "Jam outlet" lights up.
If this is the case, switch the machine off at the
main switch (1), lift up the cover flap (17) and
remove the material from the machine by hand.
Then you can switch the machine on again and
continue shredding.
Note: the machine can only be started when the
cover flap (17) is closed.
