sons include, for example:

Persons (including children) with limited
physical, sensory or mental aptitude

Persons who have no experience and/or
knowledge of the rechargeable battery.

Children must be supervised and instructed
so they do not play with the rechargeable
battery.
■
Do not leave the rechargeable battery perma-
nently in the charger. For prolonged storage,
remove the rechargeable battery from the
charger.
■
When not in use, remove the rechargeable
batteries from the operated appliances.
■
Dry the unused rechargeable battery and
store in a closed place. Protect from heat and
direct sunlight. Unauthorised persons and
children must not have access to the re-
chargeable battery.
4 UNPACKING THE RECHARGEABLE
BATTERY
Only unpack a new rechargeable battery from the
original packaging when you want to use it.
5 BLUETOOTH WIRELESS MODULE
AND AL‑ KO INTOUCH APP
The rechargeable battery is equipped with a
Bluetooth radio module. This allows the battery to
be wirelessly coupled to a mobile device (smart-
phone, tablet) to indicate the charge status.
NOTE The mobile device needs an Internet
connection for the use of the app.
The AL-KO inTOUCH app can be downloaded for
Android-based devices from the Google Play
Store and for iOS-based devices from the Apple
App Store:
After installing the app, you first have to register
or log in. Follow the "step-by-step" instructions.
The app offers a variety of functions such as

Receiving push notifications on the charge
status and important product information,
■
Technical data on the rechargeable battery,
■
Product registration.

are downloaded automatically via the Internet
(FOTA: Firmware update Over The Air).
6 ESTABLISHING THE BLUETOOTH
CONNECTION WITH AL-KO INTOUCH
APP
1. Prepare your smartphone:

Install the "AL-KO inTOUCH Smart Gar-
den" app.
■
Start the app.
2. Press the Bluetooth activation button (01/1)
on the battery to activate Bluetooth.
■
The charge status indicator LEDs light
up.
■
The Bluetooth signal is active for
120 seconds.
3. In the app setup wizard:
■
Add a new device by tapping the "+" icon.
■
Scan the battery type plate.
■
Confirm the device found or manually
add information to the device.
■
Start "Set up Smart Connect" to set up
the Bluetooth connection.
■
Then follow the step-by-step instructions
in the app.
4. Repeat the procedure if no connection to the
AL-KO inTOUCH app is established within
120 seconds.
7 DETERMINING THE CHARGE STATUS
OF THE RECHARGEABLE BATTERY
On the battery there is a button for determining
the charge status (01/1) and the LEDs (01/2,
01/3, 01/4) for the charge status indicator.
1. Press the button to determine the charge sta-
tus (01/1).

The charge status indicators light up ac-
cording to the charge status of the re-
chargeable battery.
