Use high-quality oil for sawing machine chains.
It is prohibited to use the sawing machine if the oil tank is not filled up. This might damage the chain, the guide and the mechanisms
of the sawing machine.
Before oil is filled, the sawing machine must be turned off.
It is recommended to start and operate the sawing machine at least 3 metres from the place where oil is filled. Do not use old motor
oil for lubrication, since it does not work and may damage the mechanism of the sawing machine.
Oil must be filled away from sources of ignition and heat.
In case of oil spillage, it must be wiped out thoroughly, before the sawing machine is connected to the mains.
The quantity of oil the sawing machine consumes to lubricate the chain may be adjusted through the oil dosage handwheel located
at the bottom of the sawing machine.
6.4. Preparation of the place of work
Before you proceed to cut with the sawing machine, prepare adequately the place of work so as to minimise the risk of dangers
related to the operation of a chain sawing machine.
Make sure only authorised persons are present at the place of work.
In case of felling trees, it is required to mark areas of danger and routes of escape. The zone within 180° around the planned plane
of tree falling, and the area within 90° in the opposite direction in relation to the planned plane of tree falling are considered to be
danger zones. The remaining areas constitute routes of escape (VIII). Remember also that a falling tree may upset other trees.
This is why the next working position must not be closer than 2.5 x height of the trees being felled (IX).
The place of work must be a good vantage point, so be particularly careful felling trees under adverse terrain conditions, e.g. in
the mountains.
It is prohibited to commence work during precipitation and in case of high humidity of the air, e.g. in the fog.
Wear protective clothing and use individual protection means.
Before you proceed to work carry out a wood cutting test under safe conditions, for example use a piece of wood placed on a
sawing jack.
Avoid cutting wires, young trees and wooden beams.
Do not stand on the piece of wood which is being cut.
6.5. Start and deactivation of the sawing machine
Make sure the reflection brake is in the rear position.
Remove the guide and chain protections.
Do not start the sawing machine if the guide and the chain are not properly installed.
Place the switch in the upper position.
Pull out the choke lever. (X)
Support the sawing machine on a stable surface and make sure the chain and the guide do not touch anything. Maintain the
handle with your foot, keep the front grip with your left hand and pull forcefully the starter cable with your right hand. (XI)
Attention! Do not start the sawing machine holding it with your hands. The chain main touch a part of your body and
cause serious injuries.
This will permit to distribute the fuel through the fuel system of the sawing machine. Then close the choke lever and pull forcefully
the starter cable again. When the motor starts it is required to release the starter cable. Wait until the motor is getting hot with the
choke lever slightly pulled out.
If you hear irregular noises or feel vibration, it is required to immediately turn the sawing machine off.
In order to turn the sawing machine off once the work has concluded release the throttle lever and let the motor work idle for some
time. Then place the switch in the lower position and wait until the chain has stopped. Once the chain has stopped, the sawing
machine should be subjected to maintenance operations.
Before work starts, it is also required how much the chain is lubricated. In order to do so, at an average rotational speed check if
the chain slightly splashes oil. Incline a working sawing machine with the guide slightly downwards, and if after a minute there is
a stain of oil below the guide, the chain is adequately lubricated.
If it is necessary to adjust the amount of dosed oil, it must be adjusted using the handwheel located at the bottom of the sawing
machine.
Chain lubricating oil and fuel should be consumed in a roughly uniform manner. Each time fuel is filled, it is also necessary to fill
chain lubricating oil.
6.6. Adjustments of the carburettor (XII)
The carburettor is factory-adjusted in order to ensure the highest efficiency of the sawing machine. If however the conditions of
work have changed, it may be necessary to adjust the carburettor. Before you proceed to adjust it, clean the air and fuel filters and
fill the fuel tank with fresh fuel mixture.
Attention! Adjust the carburettor only with the chain installed.
Proceed in accordance with the following procedure.
While the motor is working, turn the bolts from the pins H and L home. Then turn them in the opposite direction by the following
