Cochlear Magnet
The coil magnet has a tamper-resistant lock:
1�
Insert the new magnet and turn clockwise until it stops.
2�
Turn the magnet a little more until you feel a click.
Tip:
The tamper-resistant lock marker aligns with the cable when
locked.
Note:
•
The Cochlear coil magnet locks in position, and is not adjustable.
•
Check that if your recipient has a Cochlear CI600 Series implant, you must use the appropriate coil
magnet provided with the system. These magnets are engraved with '(I)' next to the strength
number, for example '2(I)'. If you use the wrong magnet your recipient could experience intermittent
sound and decreased battery performance.

Coil magnets used with CI600 Series implants are available in strengths
Cochlear Magnet strength 5(I)
Cochlear Magnet strength 5(I) is available in the Cochlear CP1000 5(I) Magnet Kit, which includes
a Cochlear Magnet strength 5(I), Slimline Coil (5(I)) and coil cover. Make sure you assemble the
magnet, coil and coil cover on receipt.
Note:
•
Do not use the 5(I) strength magnet with standard coils.
•
Do not use standard magnets with the Slimline Coil (5(I)) – only use the 5(I) strength magnet with
the Slimline Coil (5(I)).
•
If required, an Aqua+ Coil (5(I)) is available separately.
