Use power tools, accessories and inserted tools etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the type
and conditions of work. The use of tools for work other than designed is likely to result in a dangerous situation.
Handles and gripping surfaces must be dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and gripping surfaces do
not allow for safe operation and control of the tool in dangerous situations.
Repairs
Repair the power tool only in authorized facilities using only original spare parts. This ensures proper operation safety of the power tool.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS FOR RIVETERS
Always assume that the tool contains fasteners. Gripping the tool without proper attention may result in unexpected ejection
of the fastener and injury.
Do not point the tool towards yourself or anyone else nearby. Pressing the trigger unexpectedly will eject the fastener causing injury.
Do not start the tool until the tool is securely positioned on the workpiece. If the tool does not come into contact with the
workpiece, the fastener may bounce off the destination.
Disconnect the tool from the power supply if the fastener is jammed in the tool. When removing jammed fasteners, the tool
can be activated accidentally if it is switched on.
Be careful when removing jammed fasteners. The mechanism may be compressed and the fastener may be released with
considerable force when removing the jam.
Do not use the power cord attachment tool. The tool is not designed to install electrical cables and may damage the insulation
of electrical cables causing a risk of electric shock or fi re.
TOOL OPERATION
Preparing for operation
Before starting work, install a die matching the diameter of the rivet pin. The die with the selected diameter should be screwed into
the jaw cover. The lower, outer wall of the container is equipped with a socket wrench in a size suited to the die nut (II).
Unused dies should be screwed into the handle cover. This will prevent them from being lost.
Before starting work, make sure that the container for broken rivet pins has been installed on the back of the housing. If it is not
installed, install the empty container by screwing it as far as it goes it into the seat on the back of the housing (III). The container
should be screwed in by hand without tools.
Only the following 18V Li-Ion YATO batteries can be used to power the tool: YT-82842, YT-82843, YT-82844 and YT-82845, which
can only be charged with YATO YT-82848 or YT-82849 chargers. It is forbidden to use other batteries with a diff erent rated voltage
and not matching the tool battery socket. It is forbidden to modify the socket or battery to make them match.
Slide the charged battery into the guides of the battery socket so that the battery latch holds it in place (IV). Check whether the
battery does not slide out of the tool socket by itself.
After installing the battery, the tool is ready to work.
Charging the battery (IX)
Caution! Before charging, disconnect the charging station power unit from the mains by removing the plug from the mains socket.
In addition, clean the battery and battery clamps of dirt and dust with a soft, dry cloth.
The battery has a built-in charge indicator. The LEDs will light up by pressing the button. The more of them come on, the more
charged the battery is. If the LEDs do not light up when the button is pressed, the battery is discharged.
Disconnect the battery from the tool.
Slide the battery into the charger socket.
Plug the charger into a mains socket.
The red LED will light up, which indicates the charging process.
When charging is complete, the red LED will turn off and the green LED will light up to indicate that the battery is fully charged.
Pull the power unit plug out of the mains socket.
Pull the battery out of the charging station by pressing the battery latch button.
Caution! If the green LED lights up when the charger is connected to the mains, the battery is fully charged. In this case, the
charger will not start the charging process.
Riveter operation
The joined materials should be prepared by placing them on top of each other and then immobilising , e.g. with clamps, vice, etc.
Make sure that the total thickness of the materials to be joined does not exceed the value given in the technical data sheet. The
joined materials should adhere to each other as much as possible. If there is a gap between the joined materials, the rivet cannot
join both materials.
