USING THE TIMER
Record timer
This records FM or AM broadcasts at a set time.
Before beginning
Load a cassette tape for recording in Tape II.
(Recording starts in the forward direction (») on the A side
of the tape. Set the tuner to the station you want to record.
The set station is stored in memory.)
Example
: Setting the timer to record a radio broadcast between

7:30 and 8:00 AM.
. Switch on the power.
. Load a tape for recording in Tape II.
. Press the TUNER/BAND function key, and select FM or AM.
. Tune into the desired station using the © and ©) buttons.

. Press the TIMER/WAKE-UP
button to switch to time
indications.
if you have already set the timer, the previously set time is
displayed.
. Set the time you want timer operation to start.
@ Set the hour - press the TIMER/WAKE-UP
button.
@ Set the minute — press the TIMER/WAKE-UP button.
. Set the time you want timer operation to stop.
@ Set the hour > press the TIMER/WAKE-UP
button.
@ Set the minute > press the TIMER/WAKE-UP button.
. Switch power off.
The timer indicator (©) lights, and the unit switches to the
Standby mode.
. Press the TIMER/WAKE-UP button.
The unit automatically confirms the setting mode.
The timer indicator (@) REC) lights.
To cancel record timer operation:
When the timer indicator (© REC) is lit, press the TIMER/WAKE-
UP button. (The timer indicator goes out.)
NOTES:
After timer recording is performed once, timer settings are
canceled.
After completing timer settings once, pressing the TIMER/
WAKE-UP button when in the Standby mode lets you set the
timer to the same time once more. Pressing the button twice
sets the timer for recording.
If you set the Sleep timer during timer operation, timer
operation ends at the earliest OFF time.
